I swear by my Suri electric toothbrush, here's why it's far superior to Oral-B and Philips (2025)

If there's one thing you absolutely shouldn't skimp on in life, it's a good oral care routine - starting with a quality electric toothbrush. For years, I would mindlessly buy whatever was on sale and had somewhat decent ratings (mostly from Oral-B or Philips), only to question why it broke after just six months of use.

Just over a year ago, I decided enough was enough. I wanted to invest in an electric toothbrush I could rely on and take with me everywhere I go. And after seeing that there was a new trending toothbrush in town that shoppers were calling a "game changer", my decision was made up pretty quickly. I purchased Suri's Sustainable Electric Toothbrush in the shade Winter Fern, and have been using it daily ever since.

Equal parts stylish and effective, I’ve lost count of the number of compliments my toothbrush has received from guests (chic toothbrushes are hard to come by these days) and can't stop recommending it to anyone in search of an upgrade.

💸 Reasons to buy

Short battery life is a common bugbear shared by tons of consumers when it comes to electric toothbrushes. Even in my experience I've owned models that require charging on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. However, that changed the second I got my hands on Suri's Sustainable Electric Toothbrush. Since then, I haven't needed to charge my toothbrush more than once every month (it really lasts that long). Four hours on the charging port gives you a full charge, with enough juice to last you around 40 days.

I didn't know how much I was longing for a mount to store my toothbrush, either. The bundle I picked up came complete with a magnetic mirror/wall mount, which meant I could reclaim my sink space, and avoid paste build-up.

There's also the fact it's made from sustainable materials; the head is made from cornstarch and castor oil with medium-soft bristles, while the aluminum body is durable and recyclable.

I love the no-frills approach, too. So many models these days come with AI-integration, app control and more modes than you realistically need. Instead, what you get from Suri is a "gentle, yet powerful clean" from 33,000 sonic vibrations and two brushing modes.

Slimline in design (it's half the size of an average electric toothbrush), it's the perfect travel companion. I often stay overnight in London for work, and it always comes with me, easily fitting into whatever bag I'm using. The travel case is super handy for keeping the brush clean and stored away, and I love the addition of UV light which kills 99.9% of bacteria. A heads up, though, the case needs to be plugged in for the UV to work.

Key highlights:

✨ Recyclable, plant-based heads
✨ Innovative slim aluminium body
✨ 40+ day battery life
✨ 33,000 sonic vibrations
✨ Two cleaning modes
✨ Dentist-approved clean
✨ Bundle includes magnetic mount and UV travel case

When using the toothbrush, it pauses every 30 seconds to remind you to move the toothbrush head to a different section of your mouth, ensuring a thorough and effective clean. It also comes with a two-minute timer that automatically shuts off once you've completed the recommended cleaning time - a great feature after a hard day's work when you're overtired and don't have the energy to think for yourself.

One plant-based head comes with the brush when you buy it, and you can choose to sign up to a subscription service that delivers two replacement heads to your doorstep every six months. According to Suri, dentists recommend you change your heads every three months. Personally, I think you can squeeze a little more time out of them, providing they've not completely lost their shape and effectiveness. I purchase my heads separately, as and when they need changing.

Keeping to the brand's sustainability promise, every toothbrush also comes with a prepaid compostable mailer for you to easily return your used plant-based heads to be properly recycled. A win/win!

Overall, this is definitely one of the sleekest electric toothbrushes you can get, with a simple yet refined design that's super lightweight, effective and easy to transport.

Reasons to avoid

My only hang-up with this toothbrush is the teeny-tiny charging light. Like any toothbrush, by the time I'm done cleaning my teeth, there's splashes of toothpaste down the handle, and, in this case, it gets into the crevice where the blue light illuminates while charging, blocking the visibility of the light. This is easily resolved by using something small like a toothpick to dislodge the hardened paste.

The only other note to bare in mind is that the UV travel case only works when plugged in.

As far as price-tag is concerned, there's no disputing that £95 is a lot of money, but I think it's absolutely worth the investment, especially when you're going to be using it everyday.
