A very informative and fun tour. Shows a lot about the cotton plantations. Original buildings and a great tour guide. Definitely worth a visit!

Great experience! Lynette is terrific and told us everything we need to know about growing cotton.

This is a fantastic historical site and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and kind. It's been a very, very long time since I visited a place where I learned so much and genuinely wanted to stay longer. If you're at all interested in the history of the area or the economy of cotton and slavery, it's a must.
Willem B — Google review
I happened upon the Frogmore Plantation quite by accident. I am so glad I stopped to tour. They have guided tours but I opted for the self-guided tour. Carolyn, very helpful staff member in the office gave me all the information I needed and I explored freely the buildings on the property. It is very important to preserve history and I'm glad I had the opportunity.

I have been on several plantation tours, none comes close to the one at FROGMORE. Our tour guide was Lynn, she was very knowledgeable and helpful. Allow at least 2 hours, we could have stayed longer. We did the cotton then and now tour. Lynn used a golf cart so my disabled husband would be able to participate.Thank you FROGMORE!

Amazing story and tour! Our guide was very informative and interesting. Long-ish tour at 4+ hours but never boring. Bonus tour of a working modern gin mill..!
William S — Google review
If your looking for more then just the mansion and see the actual production process. This is your tour. Great for field trips, learn how cotten is done from seed to harvest and then to the gin process. Kid approved and tour guide was knowledgeable and entertaining for adults and kids.

If you have any interest in history or just a decent sense of curiosity, you should stop here. Allow about an hour and a half. This is the only active plantation with historic buildings that are open to the public. Lynn was our guide and did an excellent job telling the story of not only the business of raising cotton (both now and in the early days of America) and how slaves lived and worked. They don't slant history either way, they just tell how it was. It was very interesting to learn about the evolution of cotton farming and life on a plantation.

Frogmore Plantation in Ferriday, Louisiana, is a captivating destination that offers an immersive journey into the antebellum South. This working cotton plantation, with its rich history and meticulously preserved buildings, provides a unique and educational experience for visitors of all ages. From the moment you arrive, the beauty and authenticity of Frogmore are striking. The guided tours are exceptionally well done, led by knowledgeable guides who passionately recount the history of the plantation and its significance. The blend of historical information and personal stories brings the past to life in a vivid and engaging way.One of the highlights of Frogmore Plantation is its comprehensive approach to history. The tour covers everything from the origins of the plantation and the daily lives of the slaves who worked there, to the evolution of cotton farming and its impact on the region. The contrast between the original 19th-century structures and the modern, mechanized cotton gin is fascinating and thought-provoking.The plantation grounds are beautifully maintained, allowing visitors to explore the various buildings, including the slave quarters, overseer’s house, and the cotton gin. Each site is accompanied by detailed explanations, making it easy to understand the historical context and significance.Frogmore Plantation also stands out for its commitment to presenting a balanced view of history, acknowledging both the achievements and the hardships of the people who lived and worked there. This thoughtful approach makes the visit not only educational but also deeply moving.

It was amazing! Even though there were no tours set for when we were there, we were allowed to do a self guided tour through the buildings and learned so much about cotton and what it was like from the time Frogmore became a plantation. It absolutely could not have been easy and we had so much more knowledge than when we arrived. Thank you to Lynette Tanner for a wonderful experience.

I love this place & the employees there. So friendly. The items in the store are worth the stop alone, but if you want great southern hospitality stop in and have a chat with these people. They do get busy with tour busses but still offer you the same Southern Charm!
Michelle M — Google review
What a fantastic history lesson. Showing how cotton was collected both in the 1800s and today. The restored buildings showed how slaves lived and then how sharecroppers lived. This was definitely worth the time and money. Our guide, Lynn, was superb and did a great job educating our group.
Jim G — Google review
I can see why this made it on the list for the Louisiana African American Heritage Trail where other plantations did not. In the gift shop, there are books that are essentially the transcripts of the interviews done in the 1930s and 1940s of the formally enslaved and one of the videos was clips of them speaking and a correlation was made to human trafficking done from those selling their children for drugs. The only intact steam cotton gin in the whole US is located here and is on the Registry for Historic Buildings. This whole thing was amazing. Yes there was still some whitewashing, but it says a lot that a tour of the house was not given, but tours of the slave cabins were. And the detail given to the actual operation of the plantation was amazing.
Andrea F — Google review
Unfortunately closed today but a lot of it can be seen from the road. An old plantation and exhibits on agriculture of the 19th century. The original house burned down a few years ago but another house in the same style and time period was brought to the site to continue the site.
Jeff S — Google review
This was an easy tour that easily increased our understanding and appreciation for plantation life, cotton production, and the life of the enslaved.
Joe F — Google review
The lady giving the tours was super knowledable about the history of her farm. I love how it started out in the church and that they preserved the old slave houses to see history. The tour of the cotton gin was super fascinating. I went with a group *

Windsor Ruins

Towering stone columns with carved capitals from a large plantation house that burned down in 1890.
This is one of the most beautiful places to just sit in the silence of the whistling wind, and take in all of the beauty surrounding you. The day we visited, the only persons there, were two state police officers. They were there to make sure the ruins are not disturbed. An officer told us that someone had cut through the fence a few weeks earlier, and tried to knock over one of the columns. The other officer said they were going to be installing hidden cameras. I think that's a wonderful idea. The thoughts of someone ruining this beautiful place just infuriates me. This is history! It should be protected! We stayed for about 45 minutes. I just really wanted to take in all of the beauty. At one point I closed my eyes and I imagined what this beautiful place was like back in the day. Children laughing, beautiful decorations at Christmas time, the smell of fresh apple pie sitting on the windowsill. Heaven!
Mark W — Google review
Loved pulling up from the Natchez Scienic Trail to this hidden gem. It's grandeur even as ruins is spectacular. Bring a picnic, eat on a blanket or choose one of the picnic spots not far down the road. We visited Mount Locust which is super close, see my review for it. Nice day out with lots of history!

The Windsor Ruins is a must stop to see in Port Gibson, Mississippi. This was once a beautiful plantation home but a fire destroyed it. It is here that a couple of motion pictures were filmed most notably "Ghosts of Mississippi". Although the ruins are fenced off due to some type of preservation, if you're in the area I highly recommend a quick stop here to see the ruins.
Santos G — Google review
Absolutely unbelievable and so worth the drive. Pics do not do it justice. I just cant imagine what a house it must have been! I'm so glad to see people seem to be enjoying it and not vandalizing this beautiful place.

Incredibly relaxing and beautiful place to sit in silence! It is a little far back on a road that makes you think you must be in the wrong place, but I promise it's back there! No cell phone signal here though.

Great place to see the architecture of the past. This place was so big!Out of the way but if you’re visiting Acorn University or The ghost town of Rodney it’s a great place to visit.
Oran B — Google review
Beautiful and eery. Sad there was fence around due to construction but happy the are taking measures to preserve.
Anji F — Google review
Interesting history of an antebellum home. If it’s an easy stop, it is interesting. I do not know if I’d go out of my way to see it though.
Christopher A — Google review
It's a wonderful place to see. Not very accessible at the moment for they are doing some construction. That was a bit sad but, it has to be done to make sure the rest of the columns don't fall! Looking forward to seeing them again once they are finished!
Jamie M — Google review
When we visited the ruins, the site was fenced off. Apparently, there is a plan to stabilize the ruins and repair some of the fallen plaster. We had to view the ruins through a chain link fence. This must have been a magnificent structure, but there are no known photographs of it. There is a drawing displayed that gives you some idea as to what it looked like. Seeing some of the homes gives you a sense of the staggering wealth generated by cotton.
Dan D — Google review
Even though the detailed history of the place wasn’t posted, just seeing how big the place was was fascinating.
Philip N — Google review
Quite a place in the woods. The columns were very well built with the metal tops. There is a plaque stating 3.5 million to stabilize the columns and replace stucco. All burned by accident.
Tom R — Google review
A little out of the way, but still worth a visit. Interesting history - even if a short-lived mansion. I walked among the columns, only to leave from a different side. Warning signs should be near the area most folks park and view. Free to see and visit

Great ruin build in Greek Revival style, just 15 minutes off of the Natchez Trace Parkway. Would recommend.

This was on my "Mississippi Bucket List" and I'm so glad we made it! The architecture of what's left is stunning and the history is interesting!

This was a little hidden gem we found off the Natchez Trace. The history on this place was sad. You feel like you're stepping back in time.
Melissa M — Google review
Improved roads, restoration efforts are being made to preserve the old columns that still stand, there are still no public facilities

Definitely one of the most atmospheric sites and ruins in the Deep South!
Dirk V — Google review
Pretty cool abandoned ruins of a former plantation. It's pretty remote and off the beaten path. It's great to see that they are doing a restoration project. There is a fence so you cannot walk inside the ruins right now. If your down for an adventure and don't get car sick on winding curvy roads it's with a quick visit.
Pamela S — Google review
Great quick stop to see some amazing pillars and imagine what it looked like before the fire. I hope in the preservation project they will take down more of the vegetation and uncover more of the foundation and parts of the fallen pillars. A very peaceful place
Kathy W — Google review
The ruins are a curious place to visit. It's a shame the original place was destroyed so soon by a fire. I enjoyed reading the blurb on the sign, although the sign has seen better days and may need an update. Also, the fence has holes in it so doesn't really serve its purpose of keeping people out.
Caroline H — Google review
Glad they are spending the time, material and money to preserve what is left of the ruins. The red clay to the right is slick and sloppy. I don't recommend walking in it after a rain storm. But definitely walk to the back for a different perspective. Also there's some ruins here and there around the property in the woods. But be aware of snakes in the woods.Don't forget to visit the stairs that are at the Chapel at Alcorn University just south of the ruins
Outdoors S — Google review
Definitely impressive - must have been an amazing house. Sad story with the home (the plantation owner died weeks after completing the house). It's currently undergoing renovations on the columns to keep them from decaying more so the fence keeps you from getting inside the home area, but they are still impressive.

I loved this place, quite a bit to see. We spent about 2 hours here. Nice museum, a few different buildings to explore. The guy who greets you when you get there was soo friendly and knowledgeable. Also absolutely beautiful place to take pictures. If you are visiting vicksburg and have some extra time, definitely come out here.

Absolutely gorgeous place. Renting the church and pavilion is so inexpensive and so worth it. Due to flooding it is inaccessible parts of the year, but it is pristine and well maintained. Both RV and camping spots are available and the museum is excellent. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Would very highly recommend!

So much history in the area. Enjoyed the museum, artifacts, old buildings and knowledge of the man working there. Camping was fine for a night with full hookups and also included admission into the park for $25. Worth the drive!
Sandra V — Google review
Nice museum and staff. Make sure road is not flooded before you take the 7mile trip down the road as we almost didn't make it in the entrance. It cost $4 per adult, which in my opinion, was a bit expensive for what is offered. A lot of old artifacts and a beautiful church to explore.

Grand Gulf Military State Park is a beautiful historical place to visit in Port Gibson. There is so much to see here which played an important part of our country's history. Some areas of the park were not accessible to the public due to a recent tornado that touched down and damaged parts of the park but there is still much to see here.

This is a cool little Military History park. It also offers a campground. The upper deck of the campground is up a fairly steep incline. But it’s very nice once you get up. It is also very close to the country’s largest nuclear reactor.

Massive Native American site with a towering mound, landscapes & ruins of a thriving commercial hub.
I had a great time learning about Poverty Point and walking the trail. You can drive the trail or walk it, just be sure to pick up a hiking guide at the museum. It’s $4 a person to enter the museum, and there’s a great video worth watching while you’re there too. I hiked the 2.5 mile trail which takes about an hour to 1.5 hours. It had rained the day before my visit so the trail was flooded in soggy at some places. I wore mud boots and had a great time walking through the puddles. Saw 3 deer, some squirrels, and bright red cardinals while I walked.
Emerald M — Google review
It's amazing to walk in the footsteps of a culture older than the ancient Romans and Greeks, especially right here in the United States. The interpretative exhibits show items traded by native cultures from throughout the continent, while the foot paths and driving path through the site indicate the history and research for each element of the earthworks. Although many of them are visually unimpressive, the park does a good job of showcasing each mound and the ridges that make up the site. And the towering Mound A is a feature not to be missed.
Daryl M — Google review
Well worth the trip! Very affordable admission gets you in the museum and a guided tour of the mounds. The folks working here are very passionate about maintaining the integrity of the area, and with good reason. This was created long before the white man ever thought about "discovering" the area, and so much could have been lost before the area was deemed a national monument and put on the map for all to come and look at.
Andrea F — Google review
Cool spot to spend an hour learning about how people lived in this area 3600 years ago. They offer a hiking tour, driving tour, and guided ranger tour. It's all the same things, just your preference how you want to do it. I chose to drive myself down the asphalt road, stopping at the numbered ground locations and then read about them in the pamphlet they provided in the museum. I was there exactly 1 hour, stopping to read the boards, looked at the displays in the museum, and did the tour. Everyone I talked to was very friendly, and they even have a super limited selection of souvenirs, which I got a magnet. This is a National Monument so they have a passport stamper inside next to the front desk.

The guided tour was awesome and he was very patient with us. We had a little upset kid but he went right along with his job and did great

So worth the stop! I did the walking tour, but there is a driving tour offered. The visitor center has lots of information of the people group that lived here. Very clean bathrooms and a water bottle filling station. Enjoy! They do have a stamp for your passport book.

I brought my 12 year old son to see the mounds as part of his personal studies and because it's part of his native heritage. We loved it. It was beautiful. A wonderful walk, and there was even a tour we could have joined but we traveled 3 hours to be there and only had enough time to do one thing. Next time we go to visit we will make sure we have more time. The management and grounds keepers were very kind and knowledgeable.
PIRO V — Google review
Such a cool place to visit! We came during a heat wave and hiked to see the mounds. I highly suggest bringing plenty of water if you choose to hike. Totally worth it, however. It was a great experience! Oh, we also saw a deer 🦌 which is always neat.

Who knew there was a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Louisiana? Not me! The site itself is shrouded in mystery. Stroll through woods, pastures and even atop yet to be excavated by archeologists, mounds. The site is sublime. The visitor center ranger is friendly and knowledgeable, the informational video fascinating and just being there is intriguing. There is even a driving tour if ambling through the countryside doesn’t suit you. This place is a marvel.
Jennifer T — Google review
Amazing archeological site! I arrived an hour and a half before they closed, but I had time for the driving tour, the climb to the top of Mound A, the museum, and the instructional movies. I plan to come back when I have time for the longer hikes to see parts of the park away from the road. This is a Louisiana state park, but they honor two types of national park passes—the senior passes and handicap access passes.

This is a beautiful site for Native American Mounds. I learned so much from this trip and had a great time hiking the grounds. The hiking tour which I did by myself took about an hour and a half. The guided tram tour seemed to take about the same amount of time.Park Ranger Ethan was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions.

It's one of the most awesome experiences a person can have. It's a world heritage site, literally a place so important that we decide that it should belong to mankind! Everyone needs to experience it at least once.

Many artifacts to see. Plenty of walking area if you wish. The day I arrived so did 50 elementary students. Got my stamp and went outside to see property. Large parking area. Visitors from many States. Only stange thing I noticed, no signs to Monument until you are a mile away. I drove from Florida and relied on gps. Lucky it was on right road today. FREE !!!!!

It is a very interesting place. If you are interested in history or archaeology I suggest checking it out. If you want to get outside and take a leisurely hike this is a nice place for it. You could also go for the driving tour or the guided tour. You won’t be disappointed!

I recommend visiting Poverty Point. It is fascinating! Start with the short movie and then take the fun and informative tram. The guides are great! After that, there are the museum and hikes. It is wonderful for kids and adults. It is interesting to learn about the 3,000+ year old history as well as what is happening there today.
Jennifer C — Google review
This place is amazing. It's hard to describe the feeling you get when you come here and how important it is to world history. The driving tour is a must do. I really don't understand why our ancestors would have farmed OVER the landmark ridges and mounds!!! How disrespectful. I'm happy that it is now classified as a UNESCO site; on the same level as the pyramids and Stonehenge as it should be.
Crystal D — Google review
The guides did a wonderful job explaining the mounds, age, how long it took to build. Using tools like ground penatrating radar and see the mound's layers, finding where large wooden polls once stood. Great displays of found artifacts from the area and books of exploration and diagrams. Electric riding wagon with rows of seats for guests to ride throug the mounds with the guides.
Tom R — Google review
Poverty Point, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is renowned for its prehistoric earthworks and historical significance. It's an interesting place to explore for a couple of hours! The hiking trail at Poverty Point offers an easy stroll through a mowed grass path to the mounds and through wooded bayou areas. We spotted white-tailed deer and a few small frogs, which was a pleasant surprise. The trail is straightforward and easy to navigate but is largely exposed. Be mindful of the heat, as the full sun exposure and high temperatures can be challenging even on this short walk.
Daniel W — Google review
Beautiful hidden gem. Nice little short hike with a display of our states original inhabitants. The trail is marked (although grass has grown over a clear trail, we had to look for the trail in some places) Still a wonderful side visit for anyone in the area.
Jeanna H — Google review
An amazing archeological site. It’s earliest inhabitants ate mastodon and ground sloths. When visiting, go straight to the visitors center. They offers guides for both a walking tour and a driving tour. They also offer a guided train ride. I strongly recommend taking the guided tour before doing your own driving and/or walking tour. The visitors center also has short movies about the site. These informative shorts were a great visual to help imagine the people and activities of the site. Touring with knowledge gives depth and meaning to the history of the site.Again, the history of the site is amazing. This site is one of the oldest in the worlds, older then Stonehenge and the pyramids. The site is food for fodder for anyone interested in the the early American natives. What happened to their dead? There were no burial sites. Is it the first city in North America? Who were the people who lived there? No bones for DNA testing. These hunter gathers were not nomadic. It’s estimated that 700 people lived on the site. Yet, it was not an agricultural site. The walk up one of the tallest mounds in Northern American is doable for people who can walk up stairs, but find stair challenges. There were two bench stops and rails when needed.Give your self several hours for the tour and bring a hat, sunscreen, bug repellent and water.Admission is free to anyone over 62 and only $4.00 for everyone else.
Karen J — Google review
We watched a video series about old civilizations in North America and one of those presented was Poverty Point. The name Poverty Point was named after the farm that used to be there. They would call their plots, Poverty Point, Last Chance, Going Broke, etc. This is a settlement dating back some 10,000 years ago and it has the largest mound in the United States at a height of 72 feet. That’s over 7 stories tall! I hiked up to the top that had a great 360-degree view of the area. Very good trail going to the top. The museum was very informative as to the culture that was there. Even though so much is unknown about the peoples that lived here, they do know that it was one of the most influential ones at the time. They had a self-guided auto tour with numbered stops with a guide to follow. That was one of the best parts. Very, very interesting place. Be sure to talk with one of the rangers as they are very passionate and have much more knowledge to give about the site. Oh, the site is about 12 miles north of I-20 so be prepared for some nice farm land views.

The self-guided tour takes visitors through 15 galleries filled with family artifacts, pictures, set recreations, vehicles, and costumes from the show. Was really great. Fast but meaningful. The tour gave all of us a Duck call to make ourselves. Was awesome. We did have listen to Duck calls the 4 hours home lol but we all really enjoyed our time there.

The family doesn't work there anymore but they put together an really nice museum of all the history for the fans. My 6yr old had a blast. And if you are a fan then go on a day you have a LOT of time there is a TON to see! Tour was super large but lots of cool things to see.

Loved the show and have had visiting Duck Commander on my bucket list for years. The tour is interesting in learning how the family business started and moved forward. Was able to build your own duck call that comes with purchase of a tour ticket. Fun to see places in West Monroe that was featured on the show. Only thing that would have made it better...a random run into either Willie, Jase, Uncle Si, or Phil.

Showed up spontaneously and we're not disappointed. Plenty of parking, kid friendly, and staff is welcoming when you walk in. The tour starts with a 17 min video that you can skip if you want, and then a bunch of rooms about the family history. My daughter loved building her own duck call and then trying it out. There are also ducks outside the warehouse you can try your calls too. Would go back!

We HAD to stop our way through! We have watched the show and followed Sadie’s journey. Willie has been at our church a few times, we love the Robertson fam jam.The young associate manning the front desk today was on her phone and didn’t acknowledge us until my husband walked right up to the desk to buy tickets. She said tour didn’t start until til 3 (it was ten minutes til), so he assumed he had to wait to pay when she said nothing further. When it was three minutes past he decided to ask again and she exclaimed she was waiting on him (we had no idea what we were waiting for!).Anyway, the tour is great! It was very cool to see pieces from the tv show and Sadie’s costumes from a few dances on DWTS. We laughed when we saw the carved wooden statue of Willie (remembering the episode and how it went down!). At the end of the tour it has a few plaques writing about the new movie “The Blind” that came out last month. We got a Duck Picker duck call (for mallard hens) with our paid tickets and it can be taken apart to clean after blowing on it time and time again. Super neat to actually hear it in person instead of just on tv :)

Our family had an absolute blast at the Duck Commander Tour! From start to finish, it was a memorable experience. The tour guides were knowledgeable and friendly, providing insights into the history of the Robertson family and their journey with duck hunting and business. The highlight was definitely getting to see the iconic Duck Commander warehouse and learning about the manufacturing process of their famous duck calls. Our daughter was thrilled to explore the gift shop and pick out souvenirs to take home. Overall, a fantastic outing for the whole family! Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

This was cool to see. I wish I would have looked into it before we actually stopped by. There are tours but it’s during daytime hours of course so we missed it. We saw the outside which wasn’t too much anymore but still something to see. Looked like there used to be some sort of pond inside of a deck but isn’t maintained anymore. There is a neat mural outside to take a picture in front of though. Glad we stopped, only took about 5-10 minutes.

We went to see the place where the Robertson family had their business. Staff was friendly and the place was simple until you take the tour which is geared more for adults, The tour starts with a video outlining the business in the duck dynasty fashion with less comedy. My husband and I found it very interesting. Then you walk through a door and you're on a self-guided tour. What I found impressive was the manner of respect the family had for its history. If you like the duck dynasty show, you will enjoy the walk through. A duck call and a quick lesson of how to use it is included in the price of the tour.Ask questions if you need help, the crew is very personable. We didn't get photos but would have if a tour guide had been available to help. Merchandise was more expensive than it really cost them so they are making money hand over fist. The one detail I wanted to know more about was covered by a case leaving me without a way to access it. I'll have to look up info when we get to my other computer.
Kat G — Google review
We did the tour and it took about 30-45 minutes. We didn't stop and read everything nor did we watch every video otherwise it would have been a 2 hour + tour. We were passing through and were looking to kill an hour or so and this place popped up on things to do. If your watched the TV show and liked it you will like this place.

The store front is great. Workers were very nice, friendly, and helpful. I got a Drake Mallard call for my nephew. We made some press penny souvenirs as well. We went on the tour. Well worth the ticket price. It is a self paced walk through, after a video. It tells the story of Phil Robertson and his family. If you are a fan of any of their shows or podcasts, it is a must do if you are in the area. Easy to get to and plenty of parking.
Matt T — Google review
$20 for a tour ticket. We looked around the store then quickly left. I know it's an experience...

Been to the warehouse before about 7 years ago. There's a tour through the building now. But it's not of the manufacturing process. It's more of a museum with various memorabilia and stories as well as recreations of various events from the families history. If you're a fan of duck dynasty then it's definitely worth a visit.

I think a lot of people come here expecting Willie or Si to pop out of nowhere and shake your hand but that’s not realistic. With that in mind, I think they’ve done an amazing job with the store and museum tour. The duck call was an impressive touch that the kids really loved. This was definitely worth the stop

Must visit! We observed Willie come and meet a special needs kid. I was very touched. He was very nice and humble

Iconic place for Duck Commander fans. Small shop but has plenty of parking and kid friendly. No animals but service dogs allowed.Duck pond was really pitiful. Really needs some tlc.

“Hey!” Our kids love Duck Commander. We drove 4 hours to just bring them here. We knew what to expect as we did our research. The kids loved it and that’s all that really mattered to us. We did fall in love with Monroe and it made us make an impromptu trip New Orleans as it was only another 4 hours from central Arkansas where we live. So it’s a great way to break up the trip. LA is way underrated and Duck Commander has opened our eyes to so many important things in life. Family being a main focus and we can’t thank them enough for giving the inspiration to lead a healthy god loving home. While working hard and over coming life’s ever ending battles. Thank you for sharing your life with us. It made us HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY! The only disappointing thing was they didn’t have the duck calls you can make while you are there. They did give us 15 percent off on our tickets though.
Jackie B — Google review
I didn't know that they had tours now! I was just passing through Monroe on a trip West. I stopped to see Duck Commander and half of the building has been transformed into a kind of museum/history tour of their family and business. Not a bad price - $15/military vet. It was a self led tour and I enjoyed it.The place they make duck calls now, is in a different location in town. They just have the tour and some offices in this building now.
Kerrigan S — Google review
I really enjoyed the museum but it’s a little pricey for a self guided tour. The store itself left much to be desired and I was really disappointed in that. The staff was friendly but talked to each other more than trying to help customers in the store.

Been watching the show for years. Great shop but small, more items needed that are for kids or souveniers of the show ! Would be great to have a photo op area with cut outs of all the guys. We love going by on our road trips. Would be great to have free tours of the warehouse area or a donation from fans. Love the show and family ! Edited: Dec 13, 2023 - would be great to have bandanas to purchase !

The Biedenharn Museum & Garden in Monroe, Louisiana offers a unique experience for visitors. The museum showcases the life of Joseph Biedenharn, the first person to bottle Coca-Cola in 1894 and move the bottling business to Monroe in 1913. Visitors can explore a 1913 mansion filled with antiques and take guided tours through English gardens. The museum also features early Coca-Cola memorabilia and historical artifacts, providing insight into the history of this iconic beverage.
We bought tickets to tour the house when we purchased tickets to see the Coke museum next door. It is a curiously designed building which, if I remember correct, was told cost $6,000 when it was built in 1913. (one guide said 1916 so not sure which date was correct.)It was the property of the childless Emma Louise who toured Europe as a singer until WWII and returned home and never moving again. After her father died she bought out her brothers and began redecorating to her varied tastes: ending with a Oriental ensemble. The extensive gardens were her idea as her father loved his vegetable garden, chickens and pigs. (There was at least one pig that would get a Coke every day.) She tore all that up and installed a replica of the European gardens she saw in her years in Europe. No pigs, and no chickens, but lots of tropical and semi-tropical plants. She had permission from her father to go down to New Orleans and purchase a statue for the garden and returned home with five.Fascinating history about the family that put a bottle of Coke into millions of hands over the past hundred and more years.

This was an unexpectedly great spot to visit in Monroe! The Coca Cola museum was neat and included a nice cold coke to walk around the gardens with. The house itself was beautiful and Bible museum very interesting as well. The staff/guides were very friendly and engaging and explained everything thoroughly. Definitely worth the stop!

We had such a good time.. Really interesting facts about Coca-Cola. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and the man who showed us the different bottles types also had a lot of fun facts.. Well worth the time. The gardens were nice and Bible museum had a lot to see as well..

Lovely historic home with friendly and informative guides. The garden was so pretty!

Be sure to include this museum on your travels. Well worth the extra hour drive. The Bible museum included an art exhibit where each artist expressed a scripture verse. Very moving. The grounds, gardens, and Bible museum are stroller/wheel chair friendly. The Coca cola exhibit is not as it is in a multi story house. Thank you for having quality, helpful, and caring staff .

Monroe, Louisiana, has a great historic museum concerning the family and business of Coca-Cola in Louisiana. In addition to the family story leading up to the invention of bottling their beverage, additional nearby locations provide insights to eminent family members and their lifestyles. For a nice overview of the creation of the beverage itself, and the development of the bottling process and product placement and distribution, this museum is truly a diamond.Helpful and informative staff describe and provide tour information including a separate mansion having extensive grounds, and an adjacent Bible Museum having an extensive collection. And where else can you get a nice cold Coca-Cola for 5 cents?

It's such a lovely place to bring the whole family. We love looking at the plants and flowers in the big beautiful garden. We went on the weekend for the children's activities ($5.00 a ticket) they have it once a month if I'm correct..

The staff was so kind and helpful, I travel with an special needs child and the lovely lady with the long hair and the pink shirt was so understanding, she had such patience for us and gave great suggestions on how to make our visit more accessible to us. The museum itself is very fun, and I loved getting a glass bottle coke out of the vintage machine for 5¢. It was very peaceful and quiet on the day we went, with only a few other guest. There are some great spots for photos inside and outside. Overall wonderful, I could not recommend enough.

Nice place to visit in Monroe. The Coca Cola exhibit is fairly small. You can probably see everything in 10 minutes. The Bible museum can be seen in about 15 minutes. The gardens about 10-15 minutes. The house can take longer based on the tour. It's a neat house, although the renovations from the 70's tended to be a bit gaudy. Friendly staff. Overall plan on an hour to visit.

Awesome Coke museum. The other parts of the museum areas were great as well. Looking at all the Coke stuff took me back to my childhood growing up in Arkansas and seeing my Uncle Will who retired from the Coke plant in Batesville after 44 years. He had an old Coke machine too.

GREAT WEEKEND!!! Weather was great and the park was perfect. Easy to get into your campsite, sites are level, and the staff called to let us know when our spot was open and the reservation sign would be there and we could skip the office check in… huge plus. Since our last visit here WI-FI has been added and we could watch football all weekend. We will be back soon.

We left after one night of a planned four-night stay during a seven-week springtime trip. The park itself is great: nice staff, small campground, full hookups, spacious level campsites. And it's relatively quiet in the lull between the roar of logging and drilling trucks whizzing by on the nearby highway with their engine brakes engaged.

Great cabins - clean, spacious, well laid out, included everything you need, ample parking - perfect family get away. Excellent playground, ferry exhibit, and visitor information center. Friendly staff and park rangers. We highly recommend it!
Billy H — Google review
Very friendly and helpful staff. I was super impressed with how nice the cabin was. There is plenty of room and a nice screened in back porch overlooking the water. I would encourage the oark to shorten the cords on the blinds so that when they are raised they aren't a hazard for smaller children, but that's just the anxious mama in me and we don't have smaller children so it wasn't an issue for us. Also, we were looking forward to the trails, but they appear to be under water alomg with the boat launch area and I wish that we would have been notified when we booked or maybe an email if it happened between when we booked and when we arrived. They have a nice park with a slide, seesaw, zip line, and bounce pad. They also have rentals at the store in the park that rent kayaks, bikes, paddle boats, etc. We plan on checking those out today.

This state park is a great stopping point if you are on a road trip. It has great pads and hookups for rv's. The banks are pretty steep, so fishing may be a bit difficult. There is a fun park for the kids and the facilities are clean.

This State Park is a nice park that caters mostly to fisherman. But we stayed in a cabin with our family and enjoyed it immensely (minus the maintenance staff that invaded unannounced a few hours before we were going to check out. We were pushed to check out early because of this, but the other staff were very apologetic.) The cabins are VERY nice though, and the view of the water out the entire back side makes it feel as though the cabins are in the water. We also enjoyed the ferry/tugboat exhibit and the animal information inside the visitor's center. All of the staff in the visitor's center were some of the nicest we have met in the many AR state parks we have visited.

Moro Bay State Park is really clean and kept up. It has a nice campground there and the visitors center is nice. We plan to go back soon. There is an old ferry you can walk on and a tug boat. There is places to picnic and a playground for the kids. Dogs are welcomed, but please keep them on a leash.

Absolutely loved this place. Got one of the 5 cabins (ADA one). Interior was WOW! Two bedroom, 2 bath on either side of the open kitchen living space. Screened deck with table and seating for 6 plus 2 additional lounge chairs. Fully stocked kitchen but a couple of items are slightly past replacing. The couple we were with took the handicapped room. They loved the room and easy access to the bathroom. Biggest problem was the mattress it was Definitely needing to be replaced. But, other than those things this is a place I plan on returning to.

Very cool state park, although small. 5 nice 2nd story cabins as you enter the park. Small exhibits in the visitors center. Theres a small marina. The old ferry was really interesting to walk on and check it out. The RV camping sites have about half of them overlooking the water. Very nice playground. Seems like a nice place for families with kids.

Giving this place 5 stars and we didn't even stay there, just visited. Will be planning a trip to one of the campsites soon. When it's cooler weather or maybe just get one of the cabins.Visitors center was really nice with friendly/helpful staff. The park itself doesn't seem very big, but it's laid out well and very clean. River access looks very appealing for fishing.Very impressed with the place. Obviously, I'm writing a review without ever staying here.

Great peaceful place for camping and fishing! Friendly staff. Full hook-ups for camping. Great place to ride bikes! Love it here.

The park is cute enough, but was flooded (14 ft above normal). We are kayakers, but didn't really want to get out on the flooded waters for safety reasons. We are also hikers, but there's not much of that to do in southern Arkansas, compared to Central and North Arkansas. We are also campers, but with the flooded site we chose to keep heading north before finding a camping spot for the night. That being said, the ranger at the visitor center was so incredibly nice. We had a great conversation with him about the park. Maybe we can visit it again once the waters go down.

This is our 3rd or 4th time to visit Moro Bay State Park in the past 7 years and we love it! We use the RV park. The sites are paved, fairly level, have full hook ups, a fire ring, sturdy metal picnic tables, a tent area, a lantern pole, and are nicely placed so you have plenty of room. They are on the Ouachita River. There is an air conditioned bath house if you need it. Nice easy walking trails are available along with a kids playground, volleyball net, boat, kayak, and bike rentals. You will love it! Verizon cell service is great. AT&T service is horrible.

This is a quiet and beautiful park where you can enjoy fishing, kayaking, or just relaxing while watching the deer graze close by. The bathhouse was one of the cleanest I've seen and the park itself is very well maintained.

Very fascinating museum with lots to see and learn! There is no entry fee, but donations are appreciated. You can climb up inside most of the locomotives and rail cars! One thing I found very cool is that this building was where they built many locomotives, including 819 that is now on display there! Very cool place to visit! There is no A/C in the main building so it can get pretty warm, but they have big fans that circulate the air to make it much more comfortable. Overall this place is a must visit for anyone passing through the area and especially for anyone interested in locomotives or railroad history!

Trains have always been a very big interest of mine, while in Arkansas I found out that this museum was in existence and had to make it a point to stop by and take a look. Let me tell you right off the bat this is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The pictures that you see online due little justice to show you the scale of this wonderful place.Upon entering the building I was awestruck at the sheer size of the collection here. Immediately I got really excited to get in there and take look around. I headed towards the back end of the building wanting to see 819 a monstrous old-school steam loco. After hoping aboard and taking a look around my mind started filling with questions and that was when John came up. John is hands down one of the nicest, most knowledgeable gentlemen I have ever had the privilege to talk to. I started hitting him with a flurry of questions and noticed that he had the biggest grin on his face as we are both are "train-heads." He hung out with my Dad and I for over an hour and a half showing us around and sharing his knowledge base and making this a fantastic experience.John also took us over to the switch operations terminal, the terminal was something amazing to see and feel, the switch terminal controlled the lines from Missouri all the way to Texarkana and was made even better when John told us all about how it worked.Besides the trains they have an enormous collection of railway memorabilia everything from lights, bells, horns, pins, outfits, vests and so much more. And, if you are nerd for Lionel train sets this place will be right up your alley! The space is very well maintained and you can feel its history. I have been to lots of museums in my life but, this one hit differently, you can feel the American ingenuity and the importance this place played in the history of this area. I cannot recommend a place more strongly than the Arkansas Railroad Museum. If you can't make it down here I would strongly advise that you toss this museum a donation on there website they deserve every penny as the restoration work they are completing is necessary for our history so future generations can see these wonderful time pieces. And, to you John- Thank you! Thank you for being hospitable, thank you for spending all that time with my Dad and I, thank you for being into trains as much as I am, and Thank you for being a great person! I hope to see you again very soon!

There were a 2 older gentlemen there when we arrived Wednesday about 11:30 one was working on some of the projects they had going but an elderly man probably in his late seventies was more than happy to guide us around and explain some of the things the train cars were used for back in the day time moves on but history should be explored by all of our young people

Landmark state park featuring Arkansas' tallest American Indian mounds, plus a visitors center.
Plum Bayou Mounds Archeological State Park is a "plum" in a rather remote area. This is a must see for anyone living in or visiting the Little Rock Area. Truly a unique and valuable learning experience. Self-guided tour available, with a museum, artifacts, and a video and small theater room. Personalized, guided tours also available for a nominal fee. May God bless you!

Don't wait like we did. Its fun, free and interesting. OK maybe not breathtaking like some sites but it's educational. Hard to imagine life so long ago. Viewing the 3 larger mounds that remain will mean very little if you skip the cool displays in the welcome center. Easy to walk (although today it was hot!) paved trail, many rest benches and a nice area over water to see cypress tress. Took us about 45 minutes to 1 hour total so time is not really an issue. Friendly staff also!

This park offers an indoor museum and outdoor attractions near an oxbow of the Arkansas River. The park details the Toltec Indian burial mounds and offers a lot of information about the natives in the area and early native cultures in Arkansas. The whole thing can be experienced in about an 1.5 hours depending on what walking trail you take and how much time you spend in the museum. There are no fees associated with the park.

This is a wonderful place to stop in and learn about a touch of History that surrounds this area. Things are still being discovered today in 2024 is they have an on-site archaeological area where they are cleaning and taking care of the things that have been found in the mounds.Paved walking 3/4 mile trail surrounds the mounds as well as a dirt trail that is about a mile and a half long.Restrooms are available on site outside outside as well as inside the gift shop area. The gift shop area has all kinds of different things that you can choose from. You're guaranteed to leave with a memento of a visit that you'll never forget. This is a must stop if you never been here and even if you have, it's a must place for you to return to. Enjoy nature and the history that surrounds it.

Plum Bayou Mounds is a truly special place, full of history and natural beauty. The preserved mounds offer a window into the rich Native American culture that once thrived here, and the museum provides a great educational experience with its artifacts and interactive exhibits. I highly recommend a visit to Plum Bayou Mounds to anyone interested in history and nature, it's a hidden gem that shouldn't be missed.

Another SP for the history buffs, if you like American Indian history then check this place out. It doesn't take long to see it all and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Only bad thing on this visit was the weather, cold & windy. Had a hawk fly over the mounds while we were there, kinda added to the aesthetics of the place. (last pic, look close, above mound)

Wonderful little park that we visit regularly. Lots of history and artifacts on display. Would be great if they’d fix the wooden water’s edge walkway that had a beautiful view. The observation deck has been closed for years. The omission of that portion of trail spoils the route.

This is a great, well run historical state park. The rangers were super nice and helpful. I recommend viewing the short video in the visitor center before exploring. It is interesting and informative. The museum is well maintained and full of interesting bits of information. The trails by the mounds are also well maintained. I admit that prehistory is not typically anything I enjoy, but this state park pulled grabbed my attention. And I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the ancient civilization that once called this area home.

Interesting, educational and fun for kids. The outdoors trails lead past the mounds, along the bayou on a wooden walk bridge and through the nearby wood line. The marker plaques explain everything as you read along the way. The visitor center is full of interactive displays for children and adults alike.

Awesome little park very close to I-40. Stopped in to have a look at the Toltec Mounds. Staff were very friendly and informative. Grounds and facilities were well kept and clean. The boardwalk was closed due to damage, but we were still able to take a walk by the lake.

Free to the public year round. Great place for a nature walk by the Arkansas River. Clean bathrooms inside the nature center, historical artifacts on display, and snacks and souvenirs for sale.

We made it down Toltec Rd 15 minutes before they opened and parked in some tiny drive area. The surrounding land is big fields. The park is very pretty whether on foot or taken in via motorized vehicle (a tram) with an interpreter to walk you through the various sites. The hills are large and the walkway to the water is beautiful with a close-up look at some awesome trees. The museum inside has hands-on exhibits that the kids enjoyed

We loved it. It was so beautiful and peace and quiet. Just walking around you'll get lost in your thoughts that's how peaceful it is. We will definitely be back. Good place to get exercise as well. One trail is 3.5 miles and other is 1.5 miles. Also check out the store they have there as well.

Really nice historic site. The ranger was really nice and helpful. I really enjoyed the walk around the mounds. Very beautiful place. I also learned a bit. It is worthwhile to watch the movie.

The William J. Clinton Library and Museum in Little Rock offers a fascinating look into the life and presidency of Bill Clinton. The museum spans three floors and features a wide array of exhibits, including documents, photographs, and artifacts from his time in office. Visitors can explore replicas of the Oval Office and Cabinet Room, as well as displays showcasing daily life at the White House. Additionally, the museum is set within a 30-acre park, providing a scenic backdrop for visitors to enjoy.
Such a neat experience. This building has several floors and so much to see, you could easily spend several hours here. They had a temporary woman's rights exhibit while we were visiting which was very informative and interesting. Aside for the historical part, the views from this building are amazing. There is a gorgeous, large park area to walk around outside that includes walking trails and a foot bridge over the river. We intend to come back to explore outside more!

3 floors of Clinton era history, well preserved. There’s a nice gift shop downstairs. The views from the museum are gorgeous with the Clinton Bridge, River Trail and Wetlands in view. The staff are kind here. You’ve got to security screen when you enter.Reading about how the Clinton’s decorated for Christmas, had children over to read, loved music and encouraged artists and even received gifts for their pets, Buddy and Socks seemed so far ago. Times have surely changed. Having a picnic on the White House lawn is of a bygone era. It’s good to see how much of the past history is still preserved. Spending 8 years in the White House coming from Little Rock is big change especially for little Chelsea just 12 years old. The Clintons did well.

The volunteer staff is very eager to help. One of them shared that there will be a multi-million dollar renovation. The long hall, organized by years, has a LOT of detail in the form of audiovisual screens. Unfortunately, the many audio tracks are competing with each other, and I had trouble hearing. My favorite section was upstairs, where the state dinner bling was displayed. Also upstairs, many artifacts from Bill’s and Hillary’s childhood. The gift shop had interesting and unique items for sale.

I had been looking forward to visiting the William Jefferson Clinton Library for quite some time, and it truly exceeded my expectations. The grounds are expansive and beautifully situated in a scenic part of Little Rock, setting the stage for an unforgettable experience. The building itself is striking, and during the tour, they provide fascinating insights into the significance of its setting and architecture. The exhibits are incredibly well-done, particularly the section that walks you through each year of Clinton’s presidency. The Oval Office replica was impressively realistic, offering a glimpse into what it might have felt like to work in that iconic space. While political divides in the U.S. are sharper than ever, this visit was a refreshing opportunity to reflect on a time when progress was made despite those differences. It serves as a reminder that our leaders, regardless of politics, are shaped by their contexts and experiences. The knowledgeable and helpful staff made the tour even more enriching, and I left with a deeper understanding and appreciation of Clinton’s legacy.

I am comparing this to other newer Presidential museums. The introductory film is a good starter and shows Mr. Clinton’s style. This museum is almost exclusively a very detailed study of the accomplishments and challenges of the Clinton administration. I am a fan, so was impressed with all that was accomplished, but would have liked to know more about his early life, family and challenges he faced. Perhaps more on Hillary’s early life also. If you were interested, you could probably read the displays for days. We enjoyed the state dinner wing with the gifts and other details. The pictures in the displays are very insightful and revealing. The facility is beautiful, and the slightly upper scale restaurant is very good. Volunteer staff was very helpful. Large onsite, free parking.

Staff is extremely friendly. Repeatedly guards and guides came up to me and offered to show me something (often something they liked about the museum). Probably takes 2hrs to see most of it. Two floors of exhibits. You must at least pretend you’ll buy photos to be allowed into the Oval Office display- you don’t have to, but the ladies who take the pictures are very nice and they do a good job. The restaurant, 42, was good for lunch- great grilled cheese and brisket sandwich.

Not many presidential libraries in my neck of the woods so if one happens to be close by I'll drop in, even if I voted against the guy twice. (Most satisfying was my vote against his wife in 2016, I am not a fan of her). That said the '90s were good to me so Bill gets some of the credit regardless.Right away we got friendly greetings and easy access into the building. Helpful docents were stationed on all floors, they obviously enjoyed their work and made our visit more enjoyable as well.Walking through I kept having flashbacks to the early '90s, a time I remember well and with fondness. My wife interacts with the local school system and she recognized some of the education programs originating during the Clinton Administration. The Library was celebrating its 20th anniversary and as others have noted the building is showing its age (the outside could use a pressure washing) but the displays were quite informative. Upper floors had expansive views of downtown, the Arkansas River and the old railroad bridge. (Make sure you take a walk over the bridge once you exit the library, it's right there.)We declined to pay for pictures in the "Oval Office" but we did stop in the gift shop and got a magnet. (Always get a magnet!)Overall it was a fine way to spend a warm fall afternoon.

A beautiful place with a penthouse for the former President. A lot of information from the two terms held as President and before. From childhood to the end of his presidency. Pics, videos, and stats lines the three floors. A restaurant with outside seating and lots of green area to enjoy. Right next to river. $12 entry fee.
Frednando B — Google review
The museum provided information about Clinton's successes during his presidency but did not really go into much detail about his challenges. There is a replica of the oval office in the museum. Keep in mind that the only way you can take a picture of it is to stand at one of the roped off doorways or go inside and have your photo taken by museum staff for around $15. The grounds of the property are very nice and offer a great respite from the hustle and bustle of a busy day.

Definitely a must see stop if you are in Little Rock! Count on being there a few hours because there is so much to see. The museum is spread over multiple Flores and each floor has many exhibits and objects from the Clinton presidency along with pictures and video. The time line of the presidency was especially interesting. The museum is right off of the river and is in a great location. The grounds were great to walk around with numerous art installations.

Very cool library. First off, active military personnel and their families get in at no cost, which is awesome! F you going to building, you take an elevator up to the third floor which is where you start. There are some really interesting artifacts from the White House, including gifts from world leaders to the Clintons while he was in office. The second floor is definitely the best part. The way that is laid out is a long cord or with exhibits on both sides, and down the middle. One down the middle is my favorite part. Each station is the year of Bill's president. But what I really love about it is that there are binders for each month of each year of his presidency. You can actually spend days going through that. That was very intriguing to me. It really puts in the perspective how busy the president is on any given day. There is also the presidential work room that has his desk and seed for each of the people in his cabinet. I really like that. Great replica. The video presentation is about 10 minutes and doesn't shed much light on the presidency. What's cool though is that Bill himself is the narrator of the film. The bottom floor is really just the presidential limousine and gift shop. I really wish the gift shop was a little bit bigger, which may be will be something that can be done in the future. All in all, it is a really great experience. I was pretty young when Clinton was president, but I remember a lot of this stuff. It was a lot of fun going through this Museum.

Anyone who likes politics and history and wants to relive or learn about events of the 1990s will immensely enjoy this gem of a presidential museum, near downtown Little Rock and on the banks of the Arkansas River. The grounds are spacious, and a walking bridge over the Arkansas River is a few yards from the main building. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the photographer for the Oval Office replica goes far beyond his job title providing interesting details to visitors.I have visited several presidential museums, and this one is top-notch.The gift shop features many appropriate gifts of all types from magnets to books to political buttons.

The TOUR (90 mins), which goes through the three-floor levels, is a must. We learned great information and critical legislation that the Clinton administration did in the two terms (8 years). We enjoyed the Clinton Library and Museum and were glad we made the stop. The gift shop had good merchandise, and we bought several items. I recommend this Presidential Library and Museum.

We went on a Tuesday. It was lovely and fairly less crowded. We really liked the new installation on the 3rd floor that showed more about state visits / dinners and the Chuily display. The gifts from other countries were amazing to see as well. Gorgeous! The staff was amazing and so very friendly. Plan on bringing your walking shoes to also enjoy the park and bridge. And, have lunch at Restaurant 42. The views are also amazing!

This is a place to showcase artifacts for bill clinton. I enjoyed visiting the Oval Office replica and taking a photo. I took the photo in digital format for 14.99, I thought the museum was well maintained. I liked the garden outside with the small pond

So well done! A testament to Clinton’s (and partly Mrs Clinton’s) life, and public service. A time capsule of the events during his presidency and what he was able to accomplish. A beautiful and impressive body of work AND architecture. The staff (security, cashier, and gift shop employee) were all super friendly. Don’t miss the grounds as well, made for a nice little walk.

Loved meeting Miss Jerry- she was fantastic and very helpful and just simply nice ! There is a guided person that is for $12/person. Great to see the well manicured grounds. Staff was friendly and helpful. Saw President and Mrs. Clinton future burial site..that was surreal. Parking was free and ample - though there is also free valet parking. The building opens at 9 am. A great stop to take..well worth it.

The library is beautiful and so interesting to wander through. I love learning more of our American history. Grounds are wonderful, so much to see. It was busy the day we went, but everything seemed to move very smoothly. We spent a few hours there.

I was in town for business and staying at a hotel a few minutes away. I had a cancellation and decided to come visit the library. Very glad that I did. I have visited two other presidential libraries, and this one was equally as impressive. I was there on a weekday, late afternoon, so there was little to no crowd. Easy to walk through and see all of the memorabilia and history. Was fun to get my picture made in the "Oval Office". Would definitely recommend it if you're in the area and have the time.
Chancy T — Google review
The volunteer staff were very very helpful. The displays were very detailed but audio could be heard from multiple other displays so hard to hear the one you were viewing. The 3 ring binders in the timeline sections that had President Clinton’s daily schedule was interesting. The temporary display of presidents portrayed in movies was pretty cheesy.
Pal — Google review
What can I say, we have visited numerous presidential libraries and Clinton's library tops our list. The methodical layout of the timeline, photos, movie presentation, staff meeting room and oval office were all historically representative of President Clinton's time in office. Knowing how much he liked to eat, I thought that we might find a restaurant within his library. I was not disappointed. We had a lovely lunch complete with white linen napkins on the patio. The offerings were not expensive. The presentation and taste of our dishes exceeded our expectations. Definitely save lunch for a break in viewing the Library/museum

I've been trying to visit for years, but every trip to Little Rock had a full agenda. This time I arrived a day early for the sole purpose of spending the day in this magnificent museum. I can't adequately describe my visit, I know I have to return because four hours wasn't enough time to see it all.I'd be remissed not to mention the restaurant, 42. The food, the atmosphere, the customer service, and the view are all spectacular! Please visit the magnificent museum, allow the volunteers to share their knowledge with you and don't forget to have lunch at 42.

Not only a beautiful building perched above the Arkansas River near the Six Bridges of Little Rock, it is well designed with a thorough tour either guided with well informed docents or self guided voiced by President Clinton himself. A must visit for students of the American presidency. Our docent was wonderful!

Along the scenic banks of the Arkansas River, this district offers an eclectic mix of cultural experiences, culinary delights, and entertainment options. Visitors can explore local shops, savor diverse cuisines from food trucks, and groove to live music.

The River Market was nearly completely devoid of people on our Saturday afternoon visit. While the place might be quite entertaining during the summer, it is rather lifeless in the winter. The Middle East Mediterranean place did have fantastic food and incredibly friendly service!

A nice farmer's market offering local produce and goods. Located under two covered vendor areas, this downtown river market is a fun way to spend a Saturday morning! Bicycle rentals and a ton of restaurants along with a food hall are just feet away.

I don’t understand how anyone would consider this small rundown venue a “world class international market”…… the inside is 25 years dated…. Most shops and booths are abandoned, trashy, or closed. The shops they do have offers food that tastes like fast food versions of international dishes. There’s a homeless camp in front of and behind the venue. the outdoor seating is sad (old metal tables placed haphazardly on the concrete area behind the venue). Hours of operation are never accurate. there’s trash thrown all over the place. I dunno….. seems like a struggling venue with limited options.

Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site is a significant landmark in American civil rights history. It commemorates the 1957 desegregation crisis and the bravery of the Little Rock Nine, who were the first African American students to attend the school after the Brown v. Board of Education ruling. The site stands as a testament to their struggle for civil rights and is located on Daisy L. Gatson Bates Drive in Little Rock, Arkansas.
Such an incredible landmark to visit. Also amazing is that it's still a functioning high school.Kids were coming in and out of the front while our park ranger was giving us a tour from the outside. Presentation was given on the front steps.Everyone should visit to better understand how segregation was, sadly, started in America. The path was long and horrendous but the students that endured the unspeakable torment made it possible for so many more to move forward.
Toby M — Google review
Very interesting and informative site and museum. The museum is across the street from the high school so you are able to learn about the history and actually see where it took place. The museum gave the history of the high school and the efforts to integrate and also prevent integration. They had videos, pictures, and some objects. Lots of information to take in so take your time it’s worth it! The subject was handled in a sensitive and informative manner.

The Visitor Center was was closed when we were there, but there was still parking available. Since the school is still in use today, it is free and open to the public to walk around outside. There are several statues and walkways. It was moving to be able to walk up the same step were history was made decades ago.

The site of the infamous Little Rock Crisis, this NPS-run site has a small museum and is located diagonally from Central High School at a 4-way intersection. All told, we spent 1 hour here – seeing the museum took around 40 minutes, we had 5 minutes for the gift shop, and then we went over to Central High School (it is still a functioning school, so visitors can only go outside) to take pictures. The old Mobil gas station across the street is also clearly visible.
Avinash V — Google review
Ranger Randy was the absolute BEST. He brought the tour as close to being there when it occurred as humanly possible. I was there based on his detailed explanation of events and situations the nine students faced It was chilling, to say the least, but he did not hold back a single detail or try and sugarcoat the situation He told the history and warned everyone up front, if you are here for a happy and sweet story, this is not that tour It was the BEST and most informative tour I have been on, and since I am retired, I have attended many of them Well, Done, Randy, and I HIGHLY Recommend if you are planning to take this tour and you get Randy, get ready to find yourself, regardless of race, creed, or color, literally standing on the streets and steps of history and feeling like you are really a part of it Well Done!!! v/r, Dr. K. King

I visited the Little Rock Central High School National Historic Site on June 4, 2024, with my brother and sister. The Little Rock Nine visitor's center is situated near Central High School -- since the school itself is still functional, the visitor's center acts as its museum. It's a small museum that can be finished within an hour, and there is plenty of information inside. After all, the Little Rock Nine's role was rather instrumental in the desegregation effort during the Civil Rights movement. The artificats inside are well-worth the time to look. There are newspaper clippings and recordings, as well as letters by/about the students. That too, you can see the preserved Mobil gas station across the street, and you can visit Central's exterior. It is a very doable site if you're traveling to Little Rock. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because we could not do the tour. Tours are only offered at 1:00, and we could not stay for the full hour. I'd have certainly loved to go on the ranger-led tour. Still, we had a great experience.

We took the guided tour. It was about 2 hours but well worth it! The Junior Ranger book here is much more inline with the park than most parks as well. Plan on a minimum of 3-4 hours to get the tour and do the museum. Absolutely recommend!

I stopped by here on my way east. Intresting place even if it is woke. They have a junior ranger program but to compleat it would take quite a while. There is an old gas station across the stree that looks just like it did in the 1950s. This is a free national hiatoric site. There are a lot of intresting videos inside.

This was our 3rd visit. We always enjoy the displays and exhibits. One concern this visit was the park Ranger, who staffed the entrance station, didn't take a moment to greet us or the several visitors who entered after us. Odd! She just kept eyeballing her computer monitor until a visitor approached her to make a purchase. She demonstrated no obvious interest in her guests. Looks like there's an opportunity here for some retraining. 🤔

As a kid of lived through my own desegregation trauma...I simply couldn't drive through Little Rock and not see the famed building that was one of the first proving grounds of the Supreme Court's desegregation order! I am glad I did. I didn't know the National Parks Service had designated it as a landmark and had a visitor center with exhibits nearby. What I thought would be a quick snapshot in front of the building turned into an emotional roller-coaster and an opportunity to walk among history.
Michael S — Google review
There are no words to describe this amazing piece of US history. Go on a guided tour- a ranger-led interpretive tour will give you so much more perspective/information than just visiting the visitor center. To walk in the footsteps of the 9 black students, the National Guard, the police, the media, the federal troops, the teachers, and the white students is one of the most sobering and provocative experiences that I've ever had. The school is still an active high school, so you can't go inside on a tour. Just walking the grounds is powerful. The history this school has seen.
Wendy R — Google review
visitor center off to the side of the property (as the school is still a school) has all of the history and information relating to the Little Rock 9 as well as a well informed employee working behind a counter. the school itself is beautiful, hard to imagine thousands of people in that little courtyard screaming and yelling. It almost has its own gravity, you can feel the history staring back at you as a reminder of where we came from. Highly recommend this extremely underrated national park.
Aidan F — Google review
The high school is still an operating high school, so there are necessary restrictions when visiting the site, but the Visitor Center at the National Historic Site is a treasure trove of incredible information about the Little Rock Nine and the entire Civil Rights Movement before and after. Located in T.R. Pugh Memorial Park, The Old Mill is a charming 1880's-style water mill featuring rustic outdoor sculptures. Little Rock offers a variety of outdoor parks and trails, such as the Big Dam Bridge and Two Rivers Park, providing opportunities for scenic views and nature exploration. Visitors can also immerse themselves in the city's historical and cultural sites, including museums like the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts and President Clinton's Little Rock tour.
Was easy to find. Very beautiful and relaxing. Is an oasis in the middle of a city/metropolitan area. We went the 3rd week of May and everything was green and blooming. We were there around 3:00pm on a Monday and a few people were there but not many. As it got later and school let out more people showed up. As this is right in a neighborhood we saw several people out walking/walking their dogs near the entrance. We spent about an hour and thoroughly enjoyed it. A lovely spot to take your lunch/dinner (or even breakfast-check their hours first-I didn't notice what time open/close is) and enjoy listening to the water running. There was plenty of seating, a picnic table, and public restrooms. Some areas were handicap accessible. We will definitely stop back by when we visit that area again.

What an absolutely beautiful location with so much to explore in an otherwise quiet residential area. There is a lot packed in this space including the mill building that you can explore, rock bridge where the sunset shows through, multiple waterfalls, a cool sculpture, and a decked building overlooking the entire property. It was rather busy on an unusually warm winter day, but we didn't mind. Was well worth stopping and checking out. We covered everything there in about 45 minutes with two 10 year olds in tow.

I enjoyed walking around. Restrooms were decent . It was super hot today so make sure to bring a hat or sunglasses and have water. We didn't explore too far out since we have toddlers but it's best not to bring a stroller since it's hard to get around in it. Very narrow pathways . Keep your kiddos close . There isn't many safe fences surrounding the water . Very beautiful to visit though. Parking is easy. Along the side of road of The Old Mill.

I can’t express how blissful place is this! We spent a late afternoon there. We absolutely loved it. It was overcrowded when we visited there, so highly recommend visiting this during earlier time of weekdays. The sitting areas and bridges are so awesome and unique. Wish we could spend more time there.

My wife and I visited The Old Mill during a cross country trip from California to South Carolina. What a beautiful spot! The mill is a re-creation of an 1880s water-powered grist mill and is in the opening scenes of the classic film Gone With the Wind. I didn't know either of these facts when we visited it, but found out later on the North Little Rock website. Visitors can walk a lovely garden path down to the mill, then over a rustic bridge that offers a gorgeous view of Lake Number Two. Benches are placed throughout the gardens so that visitors can sit for a while and soak in all the beauty of the place. It truly does look like something out of a fairy tale.

Although it was a Friday, it was morning and was not crowded which was also great for pictures. They loved the peace, tranquility, and the beautiful landscaping also. We appreciated there was a bathroom. We also took advantage of one of two picnic tables for a picnic lunch in the shade. As always, The Old Mill was very striking in appearance. It's also free!

I'm disappointed about the Old Mill because I went twice to see it and twice I couldn't find any parking. I went at different times of the day, early morning and late afternoon, neither had parking available without walking nearly two blocks. The Capitol was the same way. I didn't see handicap parking nor could I tell if they had a ramp. I'll try again next time I visit. The area around it is beautiful. What we Texans call the Ritzy neighborhood. High dollar houses, cars, and manicured lawns with multiple flower beds and not your typical flowers. One house had Azaleas for their bushes and they were in full bloom. They were gorgeous. So the neighborhood around the mill I would give 4 stars to. If you're young and in shape this place would be easy to visit. I'm not either so that's my review and opinion.

A historic re-creation of an 1880’s water-powered grist mill. It is in the opening scenes of the classic movie “Gone With The Wind.” It features sculptures by Senor Dionicio Rodriguez and is listed on the National Register of History.

This is a beautiful historic park in the middle of North Little Rock. Great for photos and we saw a wedding there today. Excellent views and the horticulture is immaculate!

Old Mill is our favorite place to feed the ducks, turtles and walk around. It’s also a beautiful place to get married, take bridal portraits, maternity photos, and family pictures. I’ve done all of the above. It’s also very gorgeous when it snows. And in the spring Master Gardeners have beautiful flowers and landscaping!

It is beautiful there. It is a short stop, but very pretty. I went there 15 years ago when I lived in Arkansas and it looks the same. There is street parking, we went pretty early on a weekday and very few people were there at first.

Very pretty place, but it was all fake, not real wood, or an actual mill. Plus people were taking photos everywhere and we got stuck in the mill as to not interrupt their photographer. Just a little annoying.

I helped cater the food for an event here. The staff was very helpful, and the facilities are beautiful. I've also attended a concert in the main hall. It was very lovely.
Lydia V — Google review
This facility is nice enough and adequate. However, outsiders are really not welcome. This exists for the benefit of those in the gated community. When we arrived at security they didn't even say hello how can I help you? She just stood there silent. We finally had to ask what we needed to do? I think we were the first to inform her of a show that night. It was obvious to me when we exited the show that few to perhaps nobody else came in from the outside. I wish I had known before traveling from Kansas City. Overall it felt awkward.

We went to see the Wizard of Oz here at the Ponce De Leon Center. The show was outstanding!! This facility has lots of room for seating and your knees don't feel cramped against the back of someone's chair.

I had my Wedding reception in the Ponce De Leon Porte Cache. If I could do it again I would rather have no reception than support this company with my money.I was very disappointed when I went to pay the fees and they tried to charge me DOUBLE what they promised me.The receptionist, Valerie, was not professional when discussing the mistakes they made on the cost of renting this facility. She spoke rudely to me and had very poor costumer service. When looking at this venue there were many specific questions I asked to make sure it was in my budget and supplied my needs. They had all the answers I was looking for in our personal meeting.Unfortunately, by the time it came to pay, their word meant absolutely nothing, and they tried to charge me for every single thing I asked about in the personal meeting.(table clothes, decorating early that day, and hanging lights that I bought for decoration)After an hour of conversation they took off the cost of hanging lights up and decorating early, but put me in a terrible position to either pay them money for tablecloths, or have none at all. THE DAY BEFORE MY WEDDING. Even though as a company they had already promised them to me with no extra cost!I was shocked, and strongly disappointed in their customer service.

This fantastic 640 seat theater serves as the cultural heart of the largest, private gated community in the U.S. The covered portico entrance not only welcomes each visitor to the theater's many live entertainment offerings, but it also serves as a location for special pre-show gatherings and hosted activities. And on the other side of the portico from the theater sits the Ouachita Room complex, which hosts a stream of meetings, club activities, bridge tournaments, and other similar events. The Woodlands Auditorium and the complex it represents is truly one of the jewels of Hot Springs Village.

Nature & Parks
Pinnacle Mountain State Park, located just west of Little Rock, is a vast 2,356-acre day-use park offering a variety of outdoor activities. Visitors can explore scenic hiking trails with stunning mountain views and enjoy canoeing in the area. The park features an arboretum and a visitor center for those interested in learning more about the natural surroundings. The landscape includes sandstone ridges and exposed bare rock with flora resembling that of Southwest Texas, making it a unique destination for nature enthusiasts.
A beautiful state park. Free! The hikes are easy, a nice walk. The views are some of the best in the country. They have good trails for biking as well. Lots of ground to cover. The lake is gorgeous. Water looks good. They have pavilions or places to have a cookout or barbecue. A playground for the kids, bathrooms, small pier for viewing, canoe rentals, and more trails to walk through the woods. My family really enjoyed this park. Look forward to our next visit!

Whoa! Don't miss the "Creature Feature" we found. Is it a rhino, unicorn, or other monster left yet undiscovered? See the photos below for a glimpse:) Tremendous hiking and mountain biking opportunities. From changes in terrain, to indescribable views of the surrounding area and valley, this area has a little something for everyone. If you get the opportunity, be sure to make a point to spend some time at the East Quarry Outlook. Beyond just the views, make sure to observe the monument art found at the top of the trail.

Beautiful. I've never taken the hard trail but the easier one is a piece of cake. Id say takes roughly 1hr 45 min for the average person to reach the top. I do wish It was easier to get to the edge when up there but hey, its beautiful. The bathrooms are clean and their is also a playground for kids. Plenty of grills and picnic tables also.

As a nature guru, I love getting out in and finding new places to visit. This might sound odd, but as many times as I have been in Little Rock, I never knew this little gem existed. Thanks to the Arkansas passport, it has shown me places I never knew about. With Pinnacle Mountain State Park, I stopped at the former welcome center and peered across the valley. I was able to get a decent view of Pinnacle Mountain there as well. It has a very nice place to hike, or mountain bike. I love it! 8/10 will recommend.

Pinnacle Mountain is so beautiful. Great place to hike, bike, enjoy nature and the view. Our family loves it here! Today we went hiking East Summit Trail and I only made it up 3/4 way because it was so steep and rocky but I had fun!

We drove to Little Rock to catch a flight and decided to spend the evening before getting up at the crack of dawn to get on our flight the next day. What a beautiful way to spend time in Little Rock OK maybe outside of Little Rock but we enjoyed Pinnacle Mountain State Park as a way to get fresh air and be at peace before we headed out the next morning. We took two different trails. One of them is friendly to those who are physically challenged, and then we took another trail that required heavy, breathing, sweating, and having to rest a time or two. The experience was amazing and I’m so glad I visited. I will be back!

My absolute favorite hiking spot! It's gorgeous and while sometimes it can be busy, everyone respects everyone else. It can be a bit of a moderate hike in some places, especially a few scrambles on the west side. The views alone are all worth it. Great place to take a pup too!

There's a difficult trail and easy trail. The difficult trail you are climbing rocks. The way trail is a staircase, basically. The rocks have beautiful views. We took some amazing photos. The stairs have trees and foliage. Depends on the adventure you are looking for. Here are a few pictures to show the difference.

Great park. Very well maintained trails and recreation areas. The view from the summit is glorious on a clear day
Mark J — Google review
Very nice hike to the summit. Clearly marked trail, even when it becomes boulder steps. More area at the summit than expected. You can make this as difficult as you like by increasing pace, or go slow. I went up and back in under 30 minutes, but I can see going at a slower more leisurely pace and enjoy the surroundings. The park itself looks like a great place for a family outing or group gathering.

We walked up to the viewing area and checked out the visitors center. They have some very interesting displays and a deck for viewing. There is a small gift shop and clean restrooms. We also really enjoyed waking the paths in the Arksnsas Arboretum right up the road!

Had so much fun. We went for the little.5 my loop after visiting the visitor center. The guidance is there. That had a playground as well so the kids had a blast. Most definitely recommend going there if you have young ones. It's a simple loop you get to see wildlife you get to see the water you get to see the greenery. And you get to go to a playground. They had some restrooms there as well.

Pinnacle Mountain State Park has always held a special place in my heart. As a child, I have fond memories of my dad bringing me here to hike the trails, explore the natural beauty, and enjoy the scenic views. Now, I have the privilege of continuing that tradition by bringing my own children to experience the same magic I felt growing up.The park offers something for everyone—whether it's a challenging hike up the Mountain for breathtaking views, or simply enjoying a peaceful walk on the lower trails with younger kids. The well-maintained playground and picnic areas make it an ideal spot for a family day out. My kids love learning about the environment in the visitor center, and it’s wonderful to see them forming the same connection with nature that I had as a child.Pinnacle Mountain is more than just a state park to me—it's a place where family memories are made, passed down, and cherished. If you're looking for a place to bond with your family while taking in the beauty of the outdoors, this is the perfect destination.
Samantha B — Google review
The hike takes about 30-50 minutes each way. Decently steep too, on the last 400ft up. All boulders throughout the section. Fun little hike to knock out if you’re in the Little Rock area with some extra time

I'm not sure how well marked the trails are, but you would struggle to get lost.We went up the "easy" side and still found it pretty challenging for people who don't hike a lot.The view from the top of the Arkansas River was stellar.
Jon B — Google review
We practically live on Pinnacle Mountain. We loop it over and over again, up the east side, down the west, and around. The East Side Summit is the hard side and is a climb up big boulders. It's not for the average person. It's going to take 25 minutes to walk a nice trail to the base and then an hour plus for the average person to climb to the top.The west side has bathrooms and slides, a nice little park for the kids, and an easier staggered zig zag walk to the top. It's best for visitors to visit the west side.If you attempt to go to the top, give your self plenty of time to go up & down before it gets dark.I'm out here daily and there are always people out here, especially when the weather is nice.

Woolly Hollow State Park is a quick drive from Greenbrier, Arkansas and is based on a dam lake, Bennett Lake. This park has a somewhat secluded type of appeal offering a broad spectrum of amenities, such as hiking, biking, camping, picnic tables, snack bar, swimming, and more. Using the idiom, "just for kicks" might best describe the photo that includes a rather bewildering permanent "no swimming" sign next to the designated swimming area and "no picnicking" sign next to a picnic table. Sorry, this just couldn't be resisted! On a more serious note, you'll discover great hiking, easy access to the lake, plenty of room to move without crowds, clean restrooms, and a pristine Visitor Center. Of particular note, was the customer service received at the Visitor Center. We were treated as special, unique, and received trail direction that later saved us from getting lost...and we are experienced hikers. The woman we spoke with even went so far as to ask us to call if we got lost. In a word, IMPRESSIVE! The only drawback we found regarding the trails were the obvious lack of maps marking your actual location and proximity when you're on the trails at various points. As a result, it is fairly easy to get lost, so bring plenty of water, particularly at this time of year.

Woolly hollow state park is a really nice park. There is a trail to walk with benches along the trail. You can fish around the lake and swim at the beach area. Very clean showers and restrooms up the hill not a bad walk to it. There are swings and a snack shop for the folks that do not want to drive into town. There are plenty of tables for families to picnic at and there is also a pavilion you can rent for bigger parties. I will update after my stay there I am going to dry camp for 12 days. They do accept the America the beautiful card for disabled folks I think it is half off the original price.

We spent the 2024 eclipse at the park. The facilities were clean, the water was beautiful and clear. My grandson wnjoyed swimming and playing on the playground. The staff was wonderful and helpful. It truly was a hidden gem. The camping sites looked lovely for both tent and campers there were several trails to hike.

Wooly hollow is very nice. Not many people, no chance of over crowding. With 2 and 4 seater paddle boats and kayaks to rent, free life jackets, they've got everything you'll need. They also have food and drinks for purchase. Recommend you bring cash, sometimes the card machine doesn't work. They even have amazing ice cream! In addition to water recreation, they have a sand volleyball court, places to camp, a playground with swings and slides.

This is a great park with friendly & helpful staff. The RV sites are very spacious and most have a nice level tent pad. We have stayed here 3 times when in that area. The only negative comment I would say is for those in the tent only section, there are no bathrooms close to that area.

Spent four nights at this great little campground. First visit here, though friends had told us good things about it. We weren't disappointed! The lake was low due to recent drought conditions, but the fish were still biting. We had a great time at this park. We stayed in section C I believe which is the older campground. Some of these sites are a tight fit and our water facet was so far away from my camper I couldn’t reach it with a 50 ft hose. I did like the mature trees in the area though and we were able to make it work. Each site has your typical amenities fire ring, lantern pole, tent pad, etc. The bathrooms were really well maintained just a little dated in our section and the showers offered little privacy. The visitors center was nice and new and offered a small educational exhibit. The park offers so many hiking trails and other amenities such as an on site restaurant, swimming pools, basketball courts, kayaking etc. There is so much for the family to do in the area definitely worth the drive to visit and stay for a weekend!

Vibes are good with this park, Plenty to see and do if you're into things outdoors. I happened to be able to snag a campsite as someone had cancelled one and took it immediately. Site was awesome, had a little creek running beside it. One thing I do wish they had was primitive camping and better bathrooms. However they are in the middle of renovations so maybe it's being looked at. Definitely ready to come back and explore more.

I’m from Colorado and we have a state with fantastic State and National Parks. While visiting my youngest son and his family because they moved to Arkansas this last summer for a better way of life, I was blown away by the beauty of Arkansas.Lindsay’s (my son’s wife) parents have also moved to the Conway area. Steve, Caulene, Lindsay, Lucy(GK) and I drove to Petit Jean State Park (wish I knew how to pronounce that). We were all blown away by this beautiful place.Arkansas has taken a beautiful area and created a wonderful place to camp, sleep, eat, hike, fish, swim and many more enticing activities. The visitors center and especially the lodge offer outstanding views of the park.Whatever you do, don’t take my word for it, go find out for yourself.I hope in the near future to take my R-POD 179- Travel Trailer and hang around for a few days instead of the few hours we spent there recently.

Nice State Park, we camped in A loop with full hookups. The spaces are level and have nice distance between them. The is a picnic table, fire pit and BBQ on each space in this loop. Lots of trails to bike, hike & walk. Self service Kayak rentals was the only thing open end of April early May for lake use. Gift shops at Welcome Center and Mather Lodge that also has a restaurant. The hiking was spectacular with beautiful views of turtle rocks, caves the creek and falls.

Beautiful 4 mile hike from Maher lodge. The waterfall is still flowing in mid August and worth the trek but watch out for water moccasins! Petit Jean's graveside and lookout over the Arkansas River is a must see!

We were in the oldest loop & the old growth trees were wonderful. The pileated woodpeckers were plentiful & other birds sang to us. The downfall, for us, was the site was uneven & rocky. The pad was very lumpy & @ a severe slope downward. We had the camper completely nose down & still not quite level, but we lived with it. The site was spacious, but the pad for the table had a big step up. We're disabled & it was challenging, to say the least. We were in site 101 D loop. If you are young & able bodied, it should be great for you...except for the sloping camper pad. Overall, a nice park. This is just our experience there.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Petti Jean State Park is an absolute treasure in Arkansas! From the moment you enter the park, you're greeted by stunning natural beauty that sets the stage for an unforgettable adventure. The trails are well-marked and offer a variety of challenges, making it perfect for both casual hikers and seasoned adventurers. One of the highlights of my visit was the Cedar Falls Trail. While it is relatively short, the rocky terrain and elevation changes add a level of difficulty that makes the hike both exciting and rewarding. The waterfall at the end is breathtaking and provides a perfect spot to rest and take in the natural splendor.I visited in mid-June and was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable temperatures. The park's lush greenery and shaded paths kept the heat at bay, making for a very enjoyable hike. The park is also incredibly photogenic, with countless spots that are perfect for capturing the beauty of nature. In addition to the trails, the park offers well-maintained facilities, including clean restrooms and picnic areas, which are perfect for a family outing. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, providing helpful tips and information about the park's history and wildlife.Petti Jean State Park is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful and serene places in Arkansas. Whether you're looking to hike, picnic, or simply enjoy nature, this park has something for everyone. Highly recommend!

Petit Jean State Park is one of the most beautiful, iconic, and visited park in the state of Arkansas. There are many trails of varying lengths and difficulties. The Cedar Falls Trail is probably the most visited trail with one of the loveliest waterfalls in the state. There are several campgrounds offering both tent camping and RV camping including water and electric hookups. There are several picnic areas for day trips. There are cabins and a lodge offering less camping like options. The river and lake do not offer swimming but there is a pool at the lodge. The cedar falls trail is approximately two miles with several flights of stairs at the beginning of the trail. That means after the hike, one must hike back up approximately 6 flights of stairs. It isn’t too bad but is definitely not for people who have trouble with normal stairs. The Boy Scout Cabin trail also has approximately 2 flights of stairs. The Bear Cave Trail is probably the shortest and easiest trail making it the most family friendly. The seven hollows trails is longer over 4 miles but is a fairly easy trail.Easily one of the nicest state parks but also one of the most crowded.

There was some nice trails and views. However, I felt like that was this park offered. It states there are pools. One is at the lodge and if you are not renting from them, you can not use it. The other was $6.50 a person. It cost us $44 a night to stay there.
Samantha O — Google review
The hiking is excellent. The pool and other amenities are great also. They just need better signage. Unless u ask at the visitor center, there is no signage to let u know where the cedar falls trail is. It's hidden behind the Mather lodge.

The park is very clean and amenities are plentiful. I've been visiting since my dad brought me here as a child so it's always held a special place in my heart. I visit from St. Louis and always try to fit in a trip. I love the overlook. It's one of my favorite places in Arkansas. We hiked Cedar Falls trail and, while it's tough on the knees on the way down, it's very much worth the walk. Mather Lodge is always a beautiful place to stop in and rest. Just a beautiful place all together.

On our journey from Little Rock to Oklahoma, we were fortunate to stumble upon this hidden gem in Arkansas. What a delightful discovery it turned out to be! This place is a haven for nature lovers, boasting several incredible hiking trails to explore. Opting for the Cedar Falls trail was a decision we didn't regret. While it takes around 45 minutes to reach the falls, the journey is just as rewarding as the destination. The breathtaking views along the way heightened our excitement, and finally witnessing the majestic Cedar Falls was an unforgettable moment. It's definitely a highlight of our trip, and we highly recommend it to anyone seeking a refreshing outdoor adventure!!

I've lived in Arkansas my whole life and have been here countless times. There are so many trails to explore and areas to have a picnic or relax. They have a car show here often, and there is also the museum of automobiles. The waterfall is sooo beautiful when we've have rain, and if you don't want to hike down to it, the Cedar Falls Overlook trail allows you to stay on a wooden deck to go see it from above. Love this place so much!

This is a very lovely park with something for everyone. RV parking with huge sites especially in Area A, Yurt rentals (3 bunk beds and comes with a canoe to use but too far from the bathrooms for some people, 300ft) and tent sites. There’s a very nice shared use path about 2 miles long that ends at Mather Lodge which has a nice restaurant/bar/rooms. The views are breathtaking and many trails to hike.

An old favorite, going back to my teenage years! Most recent visit was a day trip with my dog while camping at nearby Mount Nebo. Stopped at some overlooks on the road, Petit Jean’s Grave, and did the Cedar Falls Overlook which is a boardwalk trail. I wasn’t up to more than that on this trip. Had a great time though!

Petit Jean State Park is the first state park in Arkansas. The park offers 20 miles of hiking-biking trails, 95-foot Cedar Falls, serene Lake Bailey, Petit Jean State Park Lake, camping facilities in cabins or campgrounds, fishing, boating, etc. Free Admission. We visited Petit Jean State Park last October to chase down fall foliage. Because of heavy rain, all of our plans changed. We were supposed to go to the Rock House Cave. The park ranger informed us about the dangerous and challenging trail conditions post-rain. The weather also dropped to 10 degrees Celsius. So we took shelter at the visitor center and took our time to enjoy the view of lake Bailey from the visitor center. When rain stopped, we went to see the Cedar falls and hiked to the viewpoint.Though rain made the trip a bit messy, but we were grateful for the magic Petit Jean State Park shared with us.

Petit Jean is a beautiful location!! The food at Mathers Lodge is so good. The trails are so beautiful. Petit Jean is special to me because my husband proposed to me there, in front of the waterfall in 2018. Highly recommend visiting the park!!

Bodies of Water
Created by the damming of the Little Red River in 1962, this reservoir flooded the town of Higden.
The lake looks kind of like a dragon. It's also fun to camp and swim. There's also little cliffs to dive into the water on. And, since the lake is so large, it's never crowded.

My wife grew up camping at Choctaw as a kid in the 60’s. Her dad helped build the electric substation at the dam and then the transmission line out of it. He watched the lake fill. We got married in 1974 and started camping there. From Choctaw, to Sugar Loaf, to the Narrows and ended up for yrs at Devils Fork. We said one day we would have a place on the lake. In 2014 our dream came true. Love this lake, great people, beautiful mountains

Beautiful lake but getting way too well known. Summer weekends are crowded and I won't go there on any holiday.

I've been in a lot of lakes and rivers and oceans, but I adore Greer's Ferry! The water is beautiful, the scenery is amazing, and it's just a chill vibe all around. I'll always come back to Greer's Ferry lake ❤️

This lake is pretty big and not very crowded with boats. The lake is super deep due to the dam. Go visit the fish hackery it is awesome to see all the fish at various ages ready to stock the river.

Great lake!! Fishing is always good. Water is way down compared to normal so watch for stumps! Lot of marinas to choose from and go to.

Wow!! Some friends came here and told us how awesome it was and that we needed to check it out. It far exceeded our expectations and we will definitely be back! The cliffs you can jump off are amazing and it's the most beautiful tranquil lake ever!

Loved our vacation here. Good fishing. Nice lake to tool around in a boat. Lots of marinas (we used Fairfield Bay Marina and loved it.) The shoreline is wooded and pretty. There is an island in the middle that you can access by canoe or ferry. Water was very clean. Very enjoyable.

Our favorit Arkansas lake. Lake is clean and as plenty to do. No matter if you like skiing, tubing or fishing this lake has it all. Plenty of marinas located around the lake to refuel or grab a quick bite to eat. Don't forget to grab a souvenir t-shirt every marina has their own unique selection. Great 4th of July firework shows also.

Lots of fun! I don’t like big crowds for things like this but you really can’t tell all that much here. There are lower parts of the cliff for kids (or you if you’re not ready for the big one) and it gradually gets higher till... the big boy jump. It’s not as bad as it looks from the top. Just jump, you won’t regret it!

Nestled in the Ozark Mountains, Ozark Folk Center State Park is a haven for preserving the region's rich heritage. The park offers a blend of music, culinary delights, and traditional crafts. Visitors can explore on-site cabins and immerse themselves in the sounds of bluegrass music while witnessing artisans practicing trades like blacksmithing, broom making, stained glass work, pottery making, and more. The Arkansas Craft Guild's headquarters are also located nearby.
My husband and I visited here for our anniversary. It was wonderful!!!! The cabins are beautiful, clean, and peaceful. Check in and out was quick and easy. The staff was very friendly. The craft center was fun and informative. We had fun and will be back.

Start by getting shuttled up the hill. Amazing place great homemade crafts and art. Found iron work unique crochet hat and bowl and beautiful pottery also some amazing homemade jewelry. Purchased a broom. Had a delicious ginger cookie and coffee. An amazing print shop it’s a must see. This place has amazing people with lots of talent! Worth the $15 to get in! And don’t miss the manic show and music! I can go on and on about this place!

My husband, granddaughter and I stayed a weekend here in September. Trust me when I say you will not be disappointed. The crafts are a must on a Saturday. The little cottages were nice and clean. The people are so friendly. We will definitely be coming back for another weekend.
Sissy M — Google review
We enjoyed Ozark Folk Center, I think if we went on the weekend there would be much more going on. However we really enjoyed it. All of the craftsmen are individual business owners so be sure to patronize them. I loved the log cabin with the rock gardens and root cellar. The restaurant wasn’t open and a few other areas weren’t either. Blacksmithing, broom making, stained glass, knife making, Pottery making, printing press, hand bows, painting, herbalist, live bluegrass music, etc, all very interesting. I will probably go back later in the week when there’s a little more action but we still saw a lot. If you show them your Blanchard Springs Cavern ticket you get a discount! I think it save us $4 each!

This place is a beautiful facility with old time feels. Shops that show you trade skills back in the day, and also you can purchase the items they make. They have blue grass and folk being performed thru the day. The theater has local talent and also some famous bluegrass bands that come in. Staff are always friendly. This is very worthwhile to visit if your in the area. Tickets are great price too and they offer yearly pass for an option too.

I visited the Arkansas Folk Center with my son and two grandsons (2 & 5) today. It was well worth the trip!We enjoyed visiting the leather shop and then going to the pottery shop where the older grandson created a snake from clay! Then we settled in to hear the BEST music I have heard in some time! It was refreshing! All smiles from our crew as we listened to a trio that was fantastic! I do have to say we were all in awe of the 11 year old young lady (Charline) that played the fiddle, sang and did a “heck” of a jig dance!Thank you—-we’ll be back,

Awesome staff!! Great learning experience! Toe tapping music. The group Harmony was playing when we arrived and after their set they visited with us for 20 mins of their break. Great folks. Very cool crafts. Plan on spending money when you see what they are making. We spent about 4 hours looking around. Great fun and entertainment. Will return soon.

We went for the banjo and fiddle competition. FYI, parking is in a lower lot with shuttle service up the hill. Good gift store and the craft village seems worth a visit. Due to the distance from literally everything, we learned we need to camp/lodge there for festivals!

Hello World, My wife and I have visited a couple of times this summer and the center is great. I've got some personal highlights and suggestions for you all.Stay in the cabins if you can, the pool is one one of the best around and I had it to myself every time I walked over. It's very nice. The Skillet Restaurant is good, we loved the salad bar and country vinagrette and the best veggies I've seen lately. Delish.Support Rocky! He is very cool, Learn who Willard the Wizard was.Rocky Clements's magic show is the best! I had no idea and almost skipped his shop but he and it ended up my favorite! His descriptions and educational re-enactment of old timey illusionists are "magic." See what I did there.Let's not forget the wonderful music from one and all.Authentic Unlimited, The Waddington Brothers were stunningly talented. And 5 South is fun. Go visit.

Blanchard Springs Caverns
Nature & Parks
Caverns & Caves
This celebrated "living" cave system has 3 levels of lighted, paved trails & guided tours.
Beautiful cavern and tour guide was extremely knowledgeable. We did drip stone since the discovery trail was closed. Overall a great experience and was not physically difficult to go through although they do not let you have food or drink in the cave.
Tyler S — Google review
One of the most amazing places I’ve traveled! (We came in November for reference)The caves: only one tour was open due to bat hibernation and it was drip stone trail- our tour guide was amazing and super sweet/funny! It wasn’t too harsh of a walk, not long at all (about an hour) but there were some “steep” ups and downs, no stairs during our tour, and we definitely should have wore nonslip (we didn’t slip but I can see how it’s possible) it is damp down there but wasn’t too cold. We brought our stroller for our 5 month old and she absolutely loved it and it was easy to maneuver around. The caves are stunning, pictures won’t ever do it justice- you just have to be there!I DO recommend buying tickets online, we showed up the first day and they were sold out, bought them online that night and the next day we showed up at 9:30am for our tour and they were already sold out. Great prices for an unforgettable experience!!!The springs/campgrounds:Absolutely stunning, the creeks/springs were flowing, it was nice and cool (and foggy!) and it made the scenery absolutely stunning. Must see and easy to maneuver a stroller in.

Blanchard Springs Caverns is a great place to visit! I did the Dripstone Tour which is one hour long. The guide was John. He was so knowledgeable and shared interesting facts. This tour is great for all ages. There is walking on wet cemented walkways so wear good, sturdy shoes.Make sure to have enough time to browse the gift store, watch the 2 free movies in the theater, and do the .2 or .6 mile trail loop that is wheelchair friendly. There are benches to sit on the entire trail. Take your time enjoying nature.
Maria E — Google review
Took the Discovery Trail tour and I highly recommend this one. Guides were informative and fun. Beautiful spot and definitely a must see. While in the area please visit Mirror Lake falls and the old mill. Easy to navigate boardwalk to the top of the falls that is wheelchair accessible. The trail to the bottom and the mill is not wheelchair accessible but is still an easy hike if careful.

We happened to show up right as the next tour was starting so there was no wait. Even still though the wait doesn’t seem to be bad anyway. Their gift shop is full of all kinds of cool stuff. Our tour guide was funny and very informative. He explained the different formations and how long they take to form which was really cool. It is so worth a visit, it was one of my favorite places we visited on our vacation.

It is absolutely worth your time to take the guided tour of Blanchard Sporting Caverns. The tour guides are beyond knowledgeable. The photo ops are amazing. Although the paths are paved, they are steep, and I wouldn't recommend a manual wheel chair take this on. It's cool underground, so dress appropriately. In my estimation, the best cavern tour in North America!
Laura B — Google review
Beautiful large Caverns with many pristine formations. The guide April was informative and entertaining. It was a much brisker pace than my experience in the many other caverns and caves I have visited around the country both private and federal and that detracted from the experience. But the price was a great value ($8.50 booked online with my federal senior pass) so it's hard to complain too much.
Paula H — Google review
Took the Dripstone Trail tour and it was great! We have a handicapped son who uses a wheelchair, so that tour is the one to take. Andrew was our tour guide and was very knowledgeable about the cavern and it's history as well as with all the formations, etc. Another park ranger was with us and was very informative and helpful.
Jeff F — Google review
The drive to the park was beautiful. The cave is amazing. The staff is courteous and knowledgeable. The cave stays around 50° all year round and the pathways can be slick. Overall It was a very enjoyable family experience, and we would definitely return to do it again.

This place was amazing!! We came to Edgemont for a quick family getaway with no plans on really what to do. We came here on a whim and we were all blown away!! Sam was SO knowledgeable and made the tour fun and interactive! I cannot recommend this place enough!! It's also inexpensive! Which makes it even better!! We got there a bit early, they have tours at designated times but it gave us a chance to eat. We purchased tickets when we got there with no hassle, no lines.

Our dripstone tour of Blanchard Springs Caverns was absolutely epic! The breathtaking beauty of the caverns left us in awe at every turn. The intricate formations of stalactites and stalagmites created an otherworldly atmosphere that was both enchanting and humbling. Our guide, Mary, was extremely knowledgeable, providing us with fascinating insights into the geology and history of the caverns. Her passion and expertise truly enhanced our experience, making the tour not only visually stunning but also deeply educational. Mary's detailed explanations and engaging storytelling brought the caverns to life, ensuring our visit was unforgettable.

Such a Beautiful place to make lasting memories. The Caverns were magical. Definitely worth the tour. Everyone at this place is so friendly and helpful. Easy walk to see this beautiful natural waterfall. The drive there is crazy though. Roads are immaculate but a lot of the roadway had no guardrails which made me nervous. These are definitely big and beautiful ozarks mountains.

Blanchard Springs Recreation Area is an absolute must-visit if you’re a nature lover! From the breathtaking beauty of the springs themselves to the well-maintained hiking trails, this spot offers a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation. The highlight for me was the Blanchard Springs Caverns – a truly awe-inspiring cave system that's well worth the tour. The trails are suitable for all skill levels, and the natural scenery is stunning. You get to experience waterfalls, crystal-clear streams, and lush forests all in one place. There are plenty of picnic spots, and the campgrounds are clean and peaceful, making it a great place for a weekend getaway. The facilities are well kept, and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable about the area. I highly recommend it for families, hikers, or anyone looking to immerse themselves in the beauty of the Ozarks.

Exploring our beautiful state today we did The Dripstone Tour at Blanchard Springs Caverns it was so beautiful and educational totally worth the (very scenic) drive! Fox Glover and Eden were our tour guides and did an excellent job! We want to come back and do the Discovery tour when it opens this summer as well! Wear good comfy shoes and pack a snack for the drive.

We did the shorter tour (1 hour, 0.4 miles) with 2 adults and 4 kids (ages 3, 5, 5, and 7). It was awesome! Our tour guide, Andrew, was extremely knowledgeable and hilarious. He did a great job! We did the first tour at 10am on a Friday during the summer and our group was small. We were even able to see bats flying around because they hadn’t been disturbed yet for the day! It’s a cool 58 degrees down in the caverns so I would definitely bring a sweatshirt or light jacket. Highly recommend.
Alexandra M — Google review
We were only able yo tour the upper section because the middle and lower sections are only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day, but we will DEFINITELY be returning in that time frame. The Forest Service guides were very knowledgeable and did a great job.

Fantastic Caves! We had their funny brilliant tour guide, Sherri for the discovery tour, she made the experience that much more special. I will say it was a lot of steps, but every room was filled with different aspects of a true living cave system. Gorgeous views! The history and realities of how the cave was discovered were interesting and terrifying. They charge such a small fee for the tour our expectations were not set very high, it was a fantastic experience. I will say that you aren't given much time to take it all in or snap photos, and it really should be a bit linger drawn out tour to be able to take it all in as it seemed quite rushed-even at an hour and a half.

So glad we drove off of our path to see the cavern! Oh my goodness! They are so amazing. As another reviewer stated, you feel like you’re on another planet! We did the Dripstone and Discovery Tours. It was beautiful! We even saw a few bats fluttering around. The staff was very informative and engaging. Definitely recommend getting tickets in advance. The Dripstone tour was about an hour long and easy to walk. The Discovery Tour was closer to two hours and had a Lot of stairs. I recommend both! Then we went to the Springs, which was a beautiful short walk.

An amazing time for sure. Awesome little gift shop when you first enter prices weren't bad either. Going down into the caverns was amazing. To anybody that has an experienced that it is a must. Pictures do not do it justice. They do an amazing job keeping it clean for people to enjoy. They are very honest when they say it is not for somebody that does not like walking and going upstairs. That's just apart of the experience and I enjoyed every minute of it.

We loved visiting these areas and playing in the spring! It was absolutely beautiful! There are easier wooden paths and medium dirt paths in areas. Our kids and myself had fun playing in the water a bit. Our dog had fun too! The water is quite chilly and some areas are slipped in the water due to moss, algae, etc. Water shoes with some tread is recommended. Would definitely visit again!

An awesome experience, very interesting. Camping, hiking, rock skipping, water wadding, just not a good idea this time of year. Beautiful sites to see. Really surprised at how the restrooms were. Waterfall and fishing in one area.

This is a beautiful park with good hiking trails. Mirror Lake was very nice but not a very good hike. It was incredibly beautiful but the hike was too short for me and the trail was not very well maintained. The Blanchard Springs were a must see. The longer hiking trails in the park were a little mundane. Not much to see.
Michael E — Google review
Did the upper trail which was graveled and smooth enough for wheel chair access. They had benches about every 75 to 100 feet. Very open. Did not feel like a walk in the woods. They have obviously knocked down lots of nearby forest.
Rebecca T — Google review
I’ve been hiking this park for 35yrs. Anytime is a great time to unplug and hike this park. The natural spring is never the same twice. All the bathhouses are very clean and spacious and the park staff are extremely resourceful and willing to help you have the best moments while in the park. I was one of the first participants in “The Wild Cave Tour” where they guided you over the rails of the Dripstone cave tour (I think) and into the depths of the Earth. 4 miles of head lamp lighting, crawling on hands and knees traversing the “Little Grand Canyon” and being promised ‘if you fall; we only came in with 8’: I somehow survived. The primitive camping, zero cell signal and the relaxing waters and top rate park crew keeps this this park timeless and inviting.

There is parking right ahead of the mirror lake falls that is left side and park there you will finding excellent fishing spots throughout the year and you can enter onto the mountains from the bridge if you straight you will find path to right of the perpendicular to the falls reach the end of it and you will see a opening use that you will get your own spot.Try also taking path next to parking which will lead to the old mill that is now abandoned. It has good view

First I would like to thank Shane with the U.S. Forest Service for being helpful and very knowledgeable about Blanchard Springs. We stayed at the campground which was very clean and not busy at all. This campground is perfect for tent camping and has a restroom and shower. The campsites are fitted with a picnic table, firepit, and grill. Make sure you collect some wood along the way as you won't find much wood to collect within the camping area which in my opinion is a great thing. Make sure you dispose of your trash before sundown as there are some masked bandits (Racoons) that enjoy looking for scraps but don't offer them any food as they will tell all there other furry friends to join them next time. There is a small swimming area (North Sylamore Creek) within the campground. Once at the creek, pay attention to the rocks under your feet as you will likely find fossils, from the ordovician period, imbedded in the rocks. If you find some of these fossils make sure you leave them in the area you found them to help preserve this park. While we were there the cavern was closed but that didn't keep us from exploring the rest of the park. You will find the spring absolutely amazing. There is a beautiful concrete trail to the spring and on this trail you will find some animal tracks which brings a nice touch education to the trail.Theres plenty of other things to see while your here so create your own adventure and enjoy this beautiful Arkansas gem.Oh, cell service is extinct at the campground if you have T-Mobile but there is free wifi down from the campground. I enjoyed not having cell service while there!
Gary K — Google review
This is a great spot to park it when picnicking or swimming in the river. They do offer grills (you have to look for them as not every picnic site has them). There are bathrooms (a bit older) and it does cost 3.00 to use it (bring cash as that is the only option.)

Whimsical hiking trails for adults being accompanied by kids or if your out with friends there are harder trails to select. The views throughout are breath taking, and the wooden walkway so you can get close to the waterfall is awesome!! There’s a historic building that is in view as well as baby blue water to dip your feet in. The whole area has different hiking trails that follow the water of go up into the hills, if your a nature person you won’t be disappointed! I suggest hiking boots or durable running shoes for the trails ✌️

Had this experience many times, beautiful views of Gods Art Work. Love the Hwy 7 ride and views. Don’t forget all the past memories of DogPatch as a kid and all the youth camps.

Absolutely beautiful! Pictures do not do this any justice. Roads where a little windy on the way up, would have been more fun if I wasn't in a 37 ft RV. The view was worth it though!

Beautiful view! I wish I had taken longer to visit the restaurant and gift shop as I could not find any other gift shops after that.

Very limited visibility when there due to cloud cover but would be an excellent lookout point on a clear day. Facilities good. Prices in gift shop competitive, lower than most places around area. Bathroom smelled like an outhouse though.

Beautiful scenic spot. The lady in the gift shop is so nice. If we return, we will definitely bring her some boudin.

This is a beautiful place to visit and the gift shop has some cool stuff. The town close is Jasper, it is a pretty little town with very friendly residents. I will definitely be going back.

Hurricane River Cave is currently closed for restoration under new ownership. The owners are making significant upgrades to the lighting, walkways, bridge, and stairs to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for visitors. Once the repairs are completed, the cave will be reopened for exploration.
My wife and I took 2 ten year olds to this cavern. It turned out to be a self-guided tour, which was fantastic. We were able to do more and see more, up close...not the cookie-cutter, roped off experience you get from the other caves.

Cave has new owners and is closed for restoration. Owners have upgraded all the lighting in the cave and are rebuilding the walkway, bridge and stairs. Will be reopened when repairs are done and a safe, enjoyable recreation experience can be had by all visitors.

Never made it to the cave, arrived approximately an hour after they were suppose to be open. Walked around to find clothes hanging up, old food/food/pots and pans laying around the shop outside, all the equipment was out in the rain, closed sign with the lights off.Called the owner(s) and they apologized and said someone would be on site in a few minutes. After 20 minutes, a worker came downstairs and opened the shop. We went inside only to hear him still trying to get ready, he was living upstairs of the shop and was still asleep with another woman yelling at him asking if he's going to get out of bed. After 45 minutes of waiting, he never acknowledged we were even there, waiting by ourselves. Another worker drove up on an ATV, once again never acknowledged us. So we left, only person to even speak to us was another customer that wanted her flashlights back from the day before. Highly unprofessional. Unorganized. Very disappointed in the staff.

Hiking Trails
Went during the winter so all the leaves have dropped or are brown. It’s a different kind of beauty. The sunset and views were still lovely. The gps told me that it would be a 2.5 hour drive. I think it was closer to 3 due to how winding the road was. It is a long drive on Hwy 23 “the pig trail” with hairpin turns. Then there was 8-9 miles on a dirt road that is very narrow. The dirt road is very bumpy and there are many blind corners and hills where you suddenly have to get over for oncoming vehicles. I would recommend a 4 wheel drive vehicle or one you don’t care as much about.Google maps tries to take people to the wrong location and you will find yourself on a private driveway with a no trespassing sign on the gate. There is a 3-4 car parking area 0.25 miles before that before the turn onto the private drive and that is the parking and trailhead. The hike is moderately easy going downhill first and then back uphill, then hiking along the cliffs for a short ways. The hike was about 3 miles and we stopped to take pictures several times. It took us about two hours. It gets dark out on the trail about an hour earlier than actual “sundown” and that dirt road is pretty bad in the dark. I also lost cell service for the last part of the drive and hike. This was fine until I was trying to drive home and there were several forks in the dirt road that you have to remember which way since the gps is “offline”It is definitely worth the trouble for the amazing views but next time I will definitely leave earlier to have more time and not feel rushed by the oncoming sunset/dark.

Entrance to the whitaker point. The road is unpaved and the markings could've been clear. There's an hidden marking behind the parking lot. Suggest to visit before sunset and not many options available here for camping. There are few cabins available nearby to stay. Have a nice hike

It is 7 miles round trip. Very , very, trying. I got only two sweet candies with me and on way back felt like disy and very tired. But it was amazing scenery, bluffs, river. If you decide to go to Goat trail from HIH, it will add up another 6 miles to you trip.

Great part of the Buffalo river. Good for kayaking or just wading around in knee deep beautiful, clear water. Good for kids or just stopping by after a long hike to cool off. The water is pleasantly cool in the summer.

I've been here a couple of times. This dam is gorgeous. I've never seen it on, but I'm sure it looks amazing. While there isn't much to do at the dam, it's a great sight to see. There are many things to do nearby. If you ever happen to go to Bull Sholes, I highly recommend stopping by the dam! There is also a visitor center with an amazing view. 10/10

Very nice and beautiful visitors center. This is normally a very beautiful area in the state of Arkansas, but due to the lack of rain we have had in the state the past month or so; the water was way down and everything looked brown/burnt instead of green.

Visited Maplewood Cemetery to experience the stunning fall foliage in Arkansas. Established in 1868, the cemetery is home to over 733 sugar maple trees, which come alive with vibrant colors in late October or early November.Walking among the tombstones, we found the final resting places of Harrison's veterans, locals, and notable citizens, each grave holding a story from the 19th century to today. Many memorials were adorned with fresh flowers left by loved ones, adding a touching element to the serene atmosphere. A peaceful, reflective place, especially during the fall season.

Hours listed suggested it might be inaccesible today, but gates were open and I took a photo of signs listing hours. We were glad it accessible. Nice place and we hope to come back when more color is showing. We knew it would probably be early but it's still a beautiful place. I imagine especially comforting to those visiting the graves of family and friends.

This is a holy place where I walk my dogs. I also pick up a few bags of waste along the way from other owners letting their dog poo and leave it. Always have a dog on a leash, and respect the Graves. One thing that I don't understand is that there are 2 flags outside of the stage. It's would rather that they take them down until the new ones can be replaced. The American flag is an honor to fly. I appreciate the Flag, but not like in this photo.IPDATE: The cemetary not only replaced the flags, but they also put doggy stations with waste bags and a can for disposal. Wow, this place put me to shame! Excellent job, really, it is the best walking area in Harrison. My apologies for my quick to be a "b" 😆. Great place, well taken care of, kid friendly, and pray it always stays open to the public. Update!! The cemetary is very people friendly, and dog friendly. They put up a few stations for not only a place to drop your waste, but they provide the waste bags for FREE as you walk your dogs. Amazing place, with amazing people working there. In the fall, as the peak of the leaves changing , if you time it right, you will see so much color like explosions of red, yellow, pink and blue leaves overwhelming your endorphins, if you like fall colors. But don't wait, the leaves are beautiful one day, storm and rain, they're gone the next day. falling off with the weight if the water, and a strong wind.
